Guys.

Deal on for a GoPro hero lcd camera. Would his one be ok for my fishing recording. It comes with a head strap, 32gb card, and monopod. Currys of world.

It's £120 all in. Or shoul d I go more for better. I'm only after film I can upload to my blog, so nothing to professional.

Thanks.

Richard.

Mat.

I don't understand these cameras at all. Are they ok for setting up beside you and just filming, as well as mounted?

Thanks?

You can set up beside you, but i prefer to use a panasonic handy cam for this. I mount on a bankstick and flip the screen so i can see what im filming. The battery charge doesnt last very long on a go pro. The gopro is much more suited to being worn. Check out some instructional vids on you tube.

You have to practise using these as the fish-eye lens obviously causes barrel distortion. You can actually correct this pretty well in Adobe Premiere but most people tend to use it as it is. I went down the cloned SJCam route which is much cheaper and produces good enough images for what I need.

I use a fly fishing waistcoat ( more american style utility vest thing) that i have put a go pro on the left breast ( like cops do) and its great for filming without having to put a harness on as i rove rolling meat

Hi men,

Got the SJCam as well , cheap and cheerful , sd card plugs into a laptop or my phone to watch playback , but it all depends on how much you want to use it . They do great editing stuff for go pro , but I have cut and clipped stuff I want on the laptop ok , it comes down to money , and the deal your looking at seems good .

My wife got me an intempo waterproof action camera from b+m which will do for me. It is designed to fit onto a helmet or bike handlebars, but it will fix to a bankstick. It comes with a waterproof case, just need a micro Sd card.

Thanks Tony. There are more options than I thought. The Ape-man also looks decent an you can get a whole outfit for under a ton?

You can download an app onto your smartphone that you can use to take pics or videos but also you can use it to set the camera angle up to how you want it.with the 4K ones you can also get a wrist watch that you can peer to start recording or to take a photo.so when you strike you can quick press the button on your wrist to start recording instead of bending down pressing the button and waiting for it to come on to set the cameras up.i have two of the 4K cameras and for £25 a pop you can't really go wrong.just get a couple of spare batterie that are about £5 and off ya go.
