Visiting on the 23rd for a day any advice welcome.

Years ago when the sea trout were there in large numbers the method was to feed poor quality/ floating casters/maggots over to the wall on the left to get the dace and roach out of the middle and bait drop right under the punt small worms and trot red worms on the bottom down the swim for the sea trout. But that was a long time ago and things change, sorry no up to date news

Thanks Mark

I've never fished there but a couple of friends did 2 days running, early June a few years ago. Apparently there were a few sea Trout in, mostly small, and they only managed a couple. They can be seen from a bridge. The most successful methods are trotted or ledgered/swimfed maggots, or worms.
You've got the date about right for the Salmon and sea Trout so you could be in for a good day.
I'm told that a lot of duck feeding goes on and they concentrated on the big mullet with some success, using bread.
It doesn't take long for sea Trout to get a taste for bread so I'd certainly be taking a loaf or 2. Shrimps for the Salmon.
Using maggots for the sea Trout on a different pool, I have known them to shy away from loose feed but happily take a lone single maggot. Other times loose feeding can get them in a bit of a frenzy. Salmon take maggots quite well too!
Would be very interested to know how you get on.
Bass love Roach, Dace etc livebaits in these tidal pools too.
Cheers
Paul

Yes saw online £8 for the day. Thanks for the help guys.

Me and a friend fished it last summer, and had some stonking dace, and also some big perch to 3lb on live baits.
Position to punt so your dead in the middle and facing downstream.
theres a deep gulley thats not very wide and runs straight down, just literally feed maggots off the punt and trot down with a float. We found ledgering a waste of time. Its also definitely worth chucking a livebait out, if your into that, as there is some almighty perch in there.

Any provisions to put a brolly up? It's gonna be a scorcher!

Thanks very much for the information.

A scorching hot day on the Bridge pool punt several decent dace a few small ones a few roach and a solitary perch and 3 sea trout all around 3lb. Difficult conditions with very high temperatures all day umbrellas a must very enjoyable though.
