Blue Moon

Fished all night for carp on the Linear complex. Not a touch, but my mate had a very good fish early evening.

I thought another line of that Billie Holiday song was rather apt too....

'Blue moon, you knew just what I was there for'

Sadly, in your case Anthony, the barbel weren't listening :D

Cheers, Dave.

I went out for the late afternoon/ evening yesterday to a river and stillwater fishery that is normally very good in the last few hours of daylight but not so good in the day. First cast on the river (about 4.00pm) I had a small Barbel on the float and over the next few hours had about 8 good Roach. The river had fished remarkably well during the day with quite a few Barbel out, very unusual.
Moved to the backwater around 7.00pm ready for the normally good Tench fishing. There were 3 anglers and although I did get 2 very small Tench eventually other than that we didn't have a bite between us!
I noticed the full moon on the way home (earlier than normal), could well be something in this Moon phase stuff. It's not the first time the fishing's been rubbish on a full moon.
