editor's personal comment - I have spoken at length to Ian about his article :) Please note that the article covers Ian's methods over the last 10 seasons, it may be that the perceived decline in barbel fishing over the last couple of seasons means that Ian hit this at the right time. It may be quite a while (during a next cycle?) before anyone could reap any similar rewards?.

Thanks for contributing the article Ian, a really interesting read that's full of very good advice in my opinion.

Thanks,

Andy F

Good stuff Ian I enjoyed that!

I understand perfectly the way you approach your angling and I can see why it works so well!

I just wish I lived a bit closer to a decent bit of Barbel river!!

I'm not jealous!!!

Much:)

Ian , I would second Bob and everyone elses sentiments , a thought provoking article . Your comments along the lines of' less is more' in terms of baiting are very sound , many of the fill it in merchants could learn a lot here . Thanks for taking the time and trouble to share your experiences with us all

Mike you are quite right, even if you think, you think outside the box it is nice to read about someone else's ideas when they are thinking outside the box too!

I hope I never get too old to learn, it is stimulating articles like this that keep me on my toes!
