Very interesting article that Keith , thanks for taking the time to write and share it with us all . Reading your piece reminded me of a book I read avidly as a young un -'' Match fishing with Benny Ashurst '' . That had a whole chapter on the high art of breeding specialist maggots , gozzers , pinkies etc .I could never persuade me mum to let me hang up a heart in the shed to get it blown by the right flies and beat off the ' wrong ' flies with a stick as Benny spent hours doing .Happy days ....
Mike I did try to breed my own maggots, but I did not tell my Mum!!!
I was in so much trouble when Dad found a pair of Chickens hung in a netted off part of the garden under an awning!
I was grounded and not allowed to go fishing for a month!!
