Bargains in the sales.

For the past two winters I've been using the Buffalo 6 type system of clothing. Wearing just a smock and merino wool vest underneath. I've never been warmer even on the worst of days.

Has anyone else tried this single layer system for winter fishing?

Also found a nice duck down puffa jacket in the sales at 1/4 of the r.r.p. Trekker again, with the same spec as the Free Spirit puffa costing over a ton! Some good deals about guys. Have you found any?:D

Mines plenty long enough Graeme and I'm 6'2''. I always wear mine with a pair of thermal lined salopettes and it guarantees I have a warm back. Mine is also slightly longer at the back than front. Amazing piece of kit.

Seconded on the Buffalo gear. I had one for years then sadly lost the jacket. It's not been cold enough for the trousers recently. Soon as winter comes I have a very trustry Karrimor 3/4 length jacket with an inner. If the weather turns you can really sink into it. It's a fire arms officer jacket (just khaki) brilliant jacket but very difficult to find now.
