Barbel video

Cheers for this Chris. (I thought I'd posted on here yesterday but it appears not).
Two things: the barbel seem comfortable taking the baits except the ones with a hook attached. Both of the fish caught picked up the bait and headed off downstream immediately, whereas the others munched on the spot.
Secondly, the pike at 3.24 has noticeable damage on its flanks which are not dissimilar to those being discussed on a recent Swale thread, which I may revisit regarding this.

Great video Chris, really enjoyed it.

Look how those pellets roll and drift in the current after a relatively short space of time, gets me thinking that after 30mins or so after casting I'm sitting there with a single hookbait.

The barbs aren't the slightest bit bothered by the presence of the Old essox

Excellent video and very interesting to the barbel angler,I was also struck by how the pellets dispersed quickly in the current......food for thought.

Hi men ,

Its better than the video i got yesterday of the fate of a lower Benyons barbel , its all over facebook , not a nice clip , and one iv not put up on here due to the otter arguments raising its head again .

Sad Hatter

Very good video enjoyed watching that good stuff Chris

Mark - yes, saw the vid on facebook and your comments. Both upsetting and disturbing (the video, not your comments).

Thanks for posting this, Chris. I wonder which river? The swim seems to have a very good flow.
