hi
Which lightweight chairs are you using when moving from swim to swim
My knees are shot and need a taller chair but still light to carry
 
Fox duralite.

Not cheap but every well built and light as a feather. IMO the best chair out there and you can’t put a price on convenience when on the bank.
 
I’ve been using a Nash bank life folding chair only really good when it’s fairly flat mind you
 
I have a Fox Duralite but it sits low , the legs are probably not long enough for you
 
I have a JRC specialist x-lite, but like you needed a bit of extra height. So I purchased some alloy tube to replace the original and give me an extra 50mm. I'm sure you can do this with a few different makes, but you need to examine them first. Some, like the korum, have tubing which cannot be altered.

I rate the Korum Aeronium - very light and if you use Korum rucksacks it can be clipped on to carry it.

My only negative is that the legs lack the adjustability of larger, heavier chairs, making it a bit harder if you set up on a steep bank, although I often just fold the rear legs underneath. This may make it impractical for you if you have bad knees, but you will be hard pressed to find a lighter chair @ 2.3kg.
 
These are all low chairs with very little leg adjustment unless like Mike you adapt them.

I would recommend the Korum s23 compact. It’s the only one mentioned that is a proper sit up chair with loads of leg adjustment and a decent height from the floor. Longer legs aswell can also be bought for it.

It’s light too. It will suit your knackered knees far better than the others imo.
 
Have a look at this.. I bought one last year for the same reasons. My knees are shot it to.. I will say its not the most comfortable chair I've sat on but not the worse either and it is certainly the lightest I've picked up. I can't remember how light it is but if you need me to I will weigh it for you. I did have a chub hi-lite but as mentioned earlier I put longer legs on it which changed the stress points and ended up breaking the chair beyond repair.

Chub Hi-Lite if you can find one. My knees have now been replaced but I like the higher seating position 👍

I have had one for a few years, first class and I recall the only one comfortable, adjustable and less that 5 k.
 
Fox duralite for me too.

I absolutely insist on having arms on my chairs and the duralite weighs in at 3.2 kg. I suppose I could have saved a bit of weight without the arms but I’m happy to lug the extra grams for the comfort. Adjustability is minimal compared to my JRC Relaxa Recliner but compared to the Fox the JRC is like taking the sofa in my lounge fishing. Brutally heavy and by the time I’ve reached my swim I look like I’m crossing the finishing line doing The Farmer’s Walk in World’s Strongest Man.

When I’m fishing I always tend to wear a wide brimmed hat and I’ve found that high back chairs like my JRC tend to be so high that they hit the brim of my hat. No such issues with the Duralite.
First world problems and all that….

I do hope it’s not the case for your chair Stephen, but in my own previous experience chairs that lack the bracing brackets at the junction between the leg and the cross bar tend to fail fairly regularly. Constant flexing at the weld and it ends up breaking, as it did on two of my old chairs. I’m twelve stone so it’s not like i was really punishing these chairs.

I bought mine just after a new "light
"chair arrived. 8 kilos. Goodness where they draw the line for heavy! Never regretted my purchase. They were around 70 then but I see dearer now ofcourse
