Not being much of a bait guru I am looking for am unflavoured neutral easy to prepare base mix. To this I just want too add a few extras, any recommendations?

Many thanks.

Clive,
Useful link to give some idea - this guy uses some basic ingredients for carp.

Here

If you are starting with something containing seed and is a good all round binder then CLO (ground seeds containing cod liver oil) is a useful ingredient.

CLO equivalent

Hope this helps,

Hi Clive,
No problem - have quite a few ingredients 'spare' so just ask - I may be able to help.

That first link is a really interesting site Bob.

Years since I made my own boilies, but think I might give it a go again.

Not exactly what you asked for Clive, but a fine and reasonably priced base mix that doesn't need much added, but good natural food additives, and a flavour, would go well with it. If you are not familiar with the company, you could do worse than to look at their list of ingredients/additives as well.

A good quality bread paste is about as neutral as you can get. Apart from predators there is not a fish that wont take bread. you can mix it as soft or hard as you like, and can mix in any flavour, colour, or addative. It can be rolled and lightly cooked in the oven, or air dried.
50% bread paste, and 50% grated Canadian chedar = the best cheese paste.
