Fished Fishers green today and found this on the bank,One of the biggest fish in the river Lea if not the biggest.Weighed by a fellow angler at 15lb 13oz she had been found on Sunday so had been out of the water for at least a day.No hook marks in the mouth, she still had an intact curtain. The only thing i could see was that the whole anal area was red and blotchy.Very few marks to identify her from ,the top fin was split between the first and second ray and on the right hand side by the top fin was a triangular silver scale.Probably a few anglers PB,very sad.

Very sad, at least it wasn't an otter!

Looking forward to a proper season on the Lea next year didn't get time this season to make the most of it.

A sad day indeed Mark. Any further news of possible cause of death or whatever since it was found?

Incidentally, have you heard the latest on the stretch you and I fish near my gaff? If not, look on the web page mate. Interesting....controversial perhaps?

Cheers, Dave.

I suppose some fish just die of old age or conk out, same as every living creature must eventually.
