A holiday on the Severn

Used to be a member of this site a few years back. Fished the Gt OUSE a fair bit and had a few doubles. It was mostly bait and wait in the evenings into dark. ihave a week's holiday at the H9igham stretch in July. Any pointers on tackling the Severn would be much appreciated.

Do you mean Highley Trevor?
 
River and Steam, right by the River, my partner cant travel due to arthritis so my daughter will accompny me. She is into wildlife photograhy. Dad is hoping to catch one or two Barbel The Gt. OUSE is a lovely river but really hard going, a full week with severral 9 hour sessions was often fruitless. I hope the Severn is just a bit easier.
 
Trevor a simple feeder rig with pellet will catch fish. if the river is low and clear id recommend fishing smaller pellets and longer hook lengths or even better try float fishing with meat. if the river is high then pellet, meat or boilie will all catch.
 
On my last visit around ten years ago the Severn was in flood. We stayed at Stans in Bewdley. There was a match upstream where I intended to try to fish but the guys said they had precedence. I talked to a couple of them and watched., those blokes were deadly, all fishing the feeder and catching. I would have never coped with those conditions.
