A follow up on the Absolutely Gutted (Hate or Love)

I've basically swapped a FS Seeker 12ft 1.75lb for an 11ft 1.75lb Torrix so I will be fishing the Seeker on the outer line and a Torrix on the inner ( only due to the lengths) I know this isn't for everyone as you all like the same rod but for me I will learn which I like so as for the roaming rod thats not happening as I've had some information on beats and pegs thanks to this community also a few mates I used to fish with on the Dee when a 3lb bag of Dace would win a big match etc back in the 80's 👍

What's the difference in your opinion mate
Two different rods, seeker is a traditional through action rod, but the butt has enough power when you need it. Torrix is more tippy, it has a softer tip and the power comes from the lower 3 quarter if that make sense.

When playing fish, I prefer seeker, the blank feels more “alive”, it just keeps bending. The torrix is more brutal because it has the power, if your line is strong enough, you can easily drag a 7,8lb barbel into your net.

I think if you’re fishing the snaggy swim, torrix is a better choice as it doesn’t give fish much room.

Thanks mate and on your opinion I think I will prefer the Seeker but the proof is in the pudding so to speak 👍

Sorry to go on but I didn't explain myself properly on this follow up thread
The reason I swapped one of my 12ft Seeker for an 11ft Torrix is that I can roam with the Torrix so I wasn't buying yet another rod ........
As once I have had a few good months of roaming I will obviously be targeting certain pegs with both rods
I won't post for a bit now as everything is now covered with the gear etc I've purchased thanks to you guys and also a massive thanks for all of you who have reached out on private messages 👍

I've no problem with rods that don't match. Sounds like a good plan to me. Enjoy your fishing. 🙂

Interesting. It's just personal opinion. I have both those rods. I definitely agree the Seeker is more through action. I like the torrix myself. I find the fine responsive tip better for seeing bites from big Chub that I catch more often than Barbel on the Avon. I had a 20 plus river Common Carp in a heavy flood on my Torrix which certainly made it bend! I guess I just prefer Harrisons and also prefer the Chimera 2 to the Seeker. As I say this is no reflection on the quality of the rod. My mate loves his and has caught very big Barbel on it. Much bigger than me! 😅

I had a 11ft barbel seeker once before, that could of been an option for you.... Unless it meant spending a lot of money on another rod?😊👍

Yeah it would of been more money 🤣 and the way I see it now is that I have a 12ft Seeker and an 11ft Torrix so I can decide which of the rods I prefer and can sell the one I dislike as both have there lovers and haters depending on which camp you are in on the Seeker v Torrix debate 🤣👍
