why lower the spec of a great reel with a cheap spool, like putting metal wheels on a 100k car.
 
i wanted a SPARE spool in case of emergency Dave, not lowering the spec of the reel at all, can't see the point in spending 20 odd quid for something that will get slung in the bag and hopefully not used.. i will only be using the reel for an odd carping session during the close season on the same lake so no need for multiple spools of line, spare for emergency,.. ie.. drop the main spool in the water, lose a lot of line that sort of thing
a spare is a spare, like a car, the spare metal wheel if you have a set of alloys is in the boot out of the way, hopefully won't get used but there in case of emergency..
anyway sorted now.........
