IMO not massive amounts of difference - but maybe just me. Think that the 1.75 suits the common butt (1.75 and 2.0) section better. The 1.5 is made on the same mandrel but has slightly 'softer' carbon in the butt although of nominally similar dimensions. The 1.25 is quite different, slimmer with quite a bit of power in the butt.

I have Bobs rods with both tips and as he says not a great deal of difference in 1.75 and 2.0 but slightly stiffer on 2.0.
 
Definite difference and comfort if casting 2-3oz loaded feeders across the Wye.
Playing fish just bit more oomph and again assurance in bit of a push.
