‘Bitetimes to lifetimes’.

‘Bitetimes to lifetimes’ the last part of Tom Bankes’ trilogy of books has just been published.

Highly recommended to any carp anglers and/or fishery managers, all 400 pages of it.

It is the most ‘recent’ of the three and I’m unashamedly biased as I have fished some of the waters Tom writes about.

Tom writes in a very personal style, but he is one of the most innovative anglers of his generation - so there are insights on every page.

The pictures are fantastic too; there is even one of my dog !

Ordered mine, thought the first two were very good…alongside Gareth farehams Adrift and the Terry Hearn books there the most inspirational fishing books I’ve read.

Yes. It is about 2 miles from my front door. But I haven’t fished it for carp for over a decade.

Unfortunately after my mate and I worked out how to catch the fish quickly; we became targets to certain other anglers.

So we both stopped fishing there and I actually gave up UK coarse fishing for a decade.

Now I’m fishing again and I went back there to tench fish (unsuccessfully) this spring. Still haven’t dusted off the carp rods though.
