    Dave Kelbrick

Another well known and much liked angler, Dave Kelbrick, sadly passed away a few days back. Dave was a massively successful pike angler, lure maestro, writer and all round nice guy, and was only in his early fifties. RIP fella, and condolences to family and friends. Dave.

    Dilley resigns

In case anyone missed it, Environment Agency chairman Philip Dilley resigned tonight over 'job demands'. I seems he is peeved that he was criticised for being in Barbados throughout the flooding crisis recently. Oh well, never mind  Cheers, Dave.

    Egrets

Why do you never have a camera with you when you REALLY need it? Today, we were driving through the Chess valley near my home, close to Latimer village, when I glanced left....and couldn't believe my eyes. There was a small tree, between fifteen and twenty feet (4.5 to 6 meters) tall...

    Wanted...a Trakker Levelite bedchair.

I need one of these beds in particular, no other will do, if anyone has one in good condition. Sadly, I don't drive, so it would need to be fairly local...or delivered/sent by courier. Pain, I know....but there you go. Cheers, Dave.

For those not members of the AT

Useful info if the police in your area do not respond to your satisfaction when you report poachers. Might also be useful if you would consider joining the AT perhaps? Just a thought. Putting Poachers in their place - Launch of PROJECT TRESPASS - The Angling Trust Cheers, Dave.

    Anuvva net wun.

I was intending to possibly buy the Korum 30" folding landing net...once my man get's one in for me to have a gander at  (I have never seen one in the flesh) However, he rang me recently to say that he had received one of the smaller ones in the range, so I popped in quickly today to...

    Their fate is sealed!

At a meeting in Tewkesbury on Wednesday, the Angling Trust and the Environment Agency agreed a plan for managing the presence of a seal in the lower River Severn, acknowledging that the seal is causing a localised impact on specimen fish such as barbel and chub and is potentially impacting on...

    ANOTHER landing net thread, groan.

Hi lads, as above...with profuse apologies. I need to know if anyone has come across a folding spoon type frame that actually works? I have used the traditional triangular, with straight fibreglass arms and drawstring connection between them, and they work well because the arms are extremely...

    RIP River Colne.

I returned from my holidays recently to the devastating news that otters have now been seen and positively identified in my stretch of the tiny river Colne in Hertfordshire :( In a stream the size and nature of the Colne, which is mainly very shallow and narrow, with almost non existent...

    Tile fish via electric winch.

Version 2.... I think they call this fishing out there  The reel is electric and the guy eventually 'powers it up' after being nagged into it by the skipper. It was powerful enough to wind that thing up from 750 feet  Don't think they will go down too well on the chalk streams...

    Moved...to where?

Moved: Bait-Tech Session with the Stars – Barbel Time! To save me searching for the rest of my life...moved to where...and why :D I know it won't be far, but I sometimes find it too complicated to locate both of my hands if they are required at the same time :p Cheers, Dave.

    A trip straight from hell.

Had an afternoon into nighter on The Colne yesterday with Conrad Farlow, that man on a mission to catch a barbel from 50 different British rivers. This trip was an attempt to make it river number 41 so far, would you believe  Sadly, I must have upset some fairly powerful barbel gods,'cos...

    Hemp

Hi Guys, I have hesitated to mention this before, because I have no corroborating evidence, but I had an interesting conversation with the owner of my local tackle shop recently. I had gone in to buy a sack of hemp for the season, and he didn't have any. He explained that there is some new...

    Daring thread.....

There are now two consecutive threads running about broken rods. Am I aloud to shout SNAP!....or would the humour (?:p) of that be frowned upon, involving a telling off :D Cheers, Dave.

    different strokes for different folks?

Hi Guys, This is a question I have bought up before...but have yet to find the answers that satisfy my curiosity....so I am having another go (boring sod :D) We are all anglers, doing roughly similar things in any given situation, in our bid to catch the fish of our dreams. Despite that...

Hi Guys, Does anyone have the link for the Felindre Service shop on ebay please? I have been on the site several times before, but now can't seem to find it....dozy old tw*t :D Cheers, Dave.

    Home page fish.

Yet another beautifully shaped, fit looking barbel on the home page I see. Looks a picture with it's fins held like that. Well done, whoever the captor was. Cheers, Dave.

    New rods.

Hi guys, There have been quite a few threads recently from people wanting advice about 'What new rod?' they should buy.............lord knows how many of these there have been over the years, including some of mine :D Now I don't blame people wanting/asking for advice on this subject, as I...
