I‘ve been messing about with rigs for years and think the Korda hook klips might be the way to achieve a rig where you can swap the hook over quickly.
I make a new rig up for every fish/recast as I’m wanting to keep a sharp hook in the water so these are potentially a great time and money...
Hi all
Hope everyone is well.
I’m looking into braided main line for the first time so would really appreciate some advice please.
I need to cast about 70-90/yards across river, hold bottom and need to back lead owing to boats. So I thought a thinner braid could give me less push on the...
Hi all
I’ve been a member of a couple of Loddon clubs for the last few years but fancy a change of scene and fishing the Thames.
I’m in N6, north London and would appreciate any suggestions for clubs on the Thames that allow night fishing please.
Many thanks
Simon
Just watched a channel 4 news piece on escaped beavers on a river in Devon.
An ecologist saying let's have a debate, they shouldn't be in a concrete zoo but should be in the wild what harm can they really do, and the chief exec of the angling trust saying dams will wreak havoc for migrating...
hi there
So in catching a nice double figure fish the other night I trod on my Ruben Heaton flyweight scales.
If I was forced to estimate the size having broken my scales I would conservatively say it was 21.03oz.
Moving on, I'm therefore needing some new scales as I can't be arsed...
For sale is a rod holdall I really bought to protect rods whilst in storage. It's perfect - aside from some mud from my garage floor which will brush off if I could be bothered!
Great quality bit of kit if you're off to France with rods you need to sling in a van as it can take 6 rods fully...
hi there
I'm having a bit of a clear out and I've been hanging on to this for ages as it's comfortable and very light. I used to carry it for about a mile when fishing a certain venue and it's great because of the weight and it folds up so compactly ease of carrying.
But its got to go because...
hi there
As above does anyone have an old copy of the John Baker book they don't need anymore?
Condition not massively important I'd just like to read it.
Please get in touch.
Many thanks.
cheers, simon
I've just given up and have managed one session without smoking, traditionally one of my favourite things to do whilst sitting by a river. I'm hoping I'll catch more!
How many of you smoke?
Owing to user error / sticking clutch meaning I lost a fish I really didn't want to lose yesterday, I might have to bite the bullet and fork out for some of the new 4000d shimano baitrunner reels.
Slightly concerned they are a bit small and light so could anyone tell me please if they feel ok...
I'm slightly OCD about my hooks and wondered if anyone else is?
Always replace the rig after a fish or session. Going on a 10 day trip out to a foreign venue I normally spend about 150 quid on hooks to take out a decent supply. German anglers seem to just use the same old massive and blunt...
Following on from the PB thread, to me it's interesting how some of the pics are good trophy shots and some are perhaps not quite the desired result of our most memorable moments :o
I'm sure there must be some experienced photographers on here who can pass on some basic ground rules we could...
I was wondering does anyone have any experience of fishing the Coppermill stream around the Walthamstow complex by chance?
Many thanks, pm if preferred.
cheers, simon
Thought I'd start a separate thread to the other worm one to ask:
Has anyone tried the blood worm boilies/paste you can get for carp, for barbel?
cheers, simon
Heard on the BBC news the proposed badger cull to prevent any further spread of TB to farmers cattle has been stopped after an appeal by animal rights people.
Badgers are not cute and still people would be prepared to put at risk cattle and farmers livelihoods.
My point being otters are...
What are you more excited about?
River season starting next week or the world cup kicking off on Friday?
Me, I don't now where to put myself at the moment I'm so excited about a festival of football and a couple of days to be spent relaxing by the Loddon.
Thank goodness England aren't...
Ok, in relation to the 'what are you going to do differently for the coming season' thread here are 3 rigs I've been messing about with to try and improve the camo factor and also convert more bites into hooked fish.
It's worth saying that the bit of river I have been fishing has some bigger...
