Well if you don't want to spend a fortune BUT want a fantastic rod for the money, try this rod.
I've not been a great fan of Korum rods, generally found them a bit floppy, and this one is certainly not a poker.
However under certain circumstances this rod is a winner.
And it's £49.95:currently...
A fantastic book with lots of barbel history.
But can anyone confirm if
"Walking away from the Thames" by Richard Giniver is within its pages please.?
Thanks..Graham
Just trying to jangle the brain cells.
Did Jon's excellent book contain
" Walking away from the Thames" Richard Giniver re Potts Stream?
If not, anyone remember where it appeared.
Thanks
Just a heads up regarding warnings re Wye and possibly the Severn from after Boxing Day.
Showing lots rain in Wales from tonight thru to Xmas day.
If you are thinking about a trip keep your eyes open on conditions.
Took my Granddaughter for her first 2 hours fishing on a local lake.
Unsurprisingly after 2 hours she was tired out after 15 carp to around 7lb. Well she's only 4.
A very good result on the float rod, winding when the fish weren't pulling. I was impressed also with her choice of fishing attire...
Totally as New with all the extras. Cordura Tubing, rod bag, metal ends.
£290. Collection from Ross on Wye.
One of the best rods ever made
Around £95 less than you'll ever find on ebay.
I mentioned this earlier but has anyone else noticed the Hinders shrinking large elips?
Don't know if it's a different supplier or machinery but the large elips are about 2/3 of the size they were 6 months ago. More like 7 or 8mm rather than 10mm and lots more misshapen.
Against a 10mm bait in...
Thanks for all the comments and replies.
I'll have a count up end of next week and decide the weekend selected.
I will update names saying yes/possible so it's clearer.
( hopefully)
There may be an opportunity to be able to fish a fantastic Private Syndicate stretch of the Warks Avon near Evesham on the 23 and 24th September.
You can Bivvy up overnight if desired.
It is a fantastic stretch where barbel have reached 16lb, Chub average 4lb and it has DF Zander as well as...
Especially in warmer water temperatures or an extended fight, barbel sometimes take a lengthy recovery time. A major sign is a fish that doesn't appear to be able to right itself.
Over and above good practice in resting and handling, and any photographing a way that can make a major difference...
I have to take Mrs Elliott to Windsor area
02 August. She will be on a boat trip all day so looking for suggestions of where to fish on DT nearish?
Cheers
Graham
I'm planning to have a Zander fly day on Grafham 18th July.
If anyone fancies a day to share a boat let me know. I have spare tackle and having to cast a distance is not needed.
I thought only rowing clubs had dispensation on the River Wye for motorised boats?.Anyone know?
Otherwise this is the way it'll go with races along the river!.
Also outside Hope and Anchor pub in Ross they doing canoe hire, £30: an hour.
