    Ebro catfishing

That's a great post Paul, I'm glad you enjoyed yourselves with the bonus of some extra special fish. Despite the number I have caught during going on 20 years my biggest is 162 ( I think). I have forwarded your post on to Al and both he and Wendy are very appreciative, they do their best to look...

    Ebro catfishing

I might even blank more on the Swale , not the river it was 10 years ago without the seal.

    Ebro catfishing

Just hope the seal didn't decimate the lower Bradford City bit Paul, I have fond memories of some swims down there towards Cod Beck. Has it gone back to sea yet or been humanely discouraged?

    Ebro catfishing

Hi Paul you will enjoy it, although I'm biased as Al is my youngest son. I've been going out for going on 20 years and he has been guiding since 2001. If you want any general information on a trip feel free to call me 07939 522220. Gavin and I had thin pickings on our visit which is no...

    Chorizo / salami bites..

When I was fishing the Ebro for carp I asked a experienced Ebro angler about using chirizo and his tip was to eat it yourself. Does look as if it would work though, certainly stay on your hook better.

    River Swale

You can get a day ticket from the farmhouse to fish Fawdington, it never seems busy although I've not fished at a weekend.

    The fishery predation survey

Predation to a great extent is a natural evolving situation but surely the answer is to have naturally reproducing species in sufficient numbers , this in my opinion is in our own hands. Pollution from industrial and agricultural activities is the biggest destroyer of the river food chain...

And thank you to Mike for organising the event, shame you didn't get to fish until 4ish. A very enjoyable day.

    Coated braid ?

Hi Joe. I have used a coated braid hook length for years now and have tried with both stripped and unstripped presentations but can't say that either way has made any difference. I am using Suffix "nuflex " 9.3kg currently in one of two colour patterns depending on river conditions. The link...

    Hooks. Help.

The Pallatrax from BFW, have my vote, used them for years now and wouldn't change. Plus it supports to a small extent this well run forum.

    Barbel in the Lake District

A very nice little carp water is Holehird tarn between Ambleside and Windermere controlled by WDAAA You used to be able to buy day tickets from the angling shop in Windermere. Full of lilies but some nice carp and very pretty with easy access. Otherwise its pike .

Angling Trust Press Release - Scandalous...

The devastation repeats itself at Cattal and Tockwith on the Nidd. I asked the farmer if it was to enable York to flood sooner. He was a bit shirty replying that "why should I have my fields flooded". I have some "before" photo's but non "after". Scandalous, when are the EA going to give an...

    Cheap, REALLY cheap, bite alarms

I bought some from Aldi for about £7. They failed after one wetting.

    Thermal bib & brace advice

With my Trakker the top fleece is pretty generous to go over the bib but I have never used it as it's been warm enough in just the suit. However the fleece is a bit too large for me(XL) just on its own. The XL suit is fine but I wished I had just the L fleece.
