I've decided that I'm going to have to travel this year to get my barbel fix. I'm looking at the said mention club. Most of the water is about 1hr from me. I've done a search on here and most of the posts or threads are a few years old now. Just wondered if there is any current members on here...
Well I got my 1st barbel had a great 3 days fishing. I was absolutely shattered when i got back and on Saturday morning every muscle in my body was aching. But I had a great time loads of banter and belly laughing. Plus I lost barbel virginity.
I know there is mixed feelings on colingham weir. But I'm off there at the start of September. I've been invited along foc. Rude not to turn it down. I'm fishing 5 or 6 apparently. I've not managed to secure my 1st barbel locally so hopefully I'll get one on this trip.

Got back into fishing in September after a 20 year break. Fished a couple of lakes but much prefer the river at the minute. Im in Northamptonshire and mainly fish the nene. I know its not the greatest place for barbel but i do like a challenge, I know they are there...
