River Kennet Burhfield - Advanced Angling

That was the beauty of the AA gated car park top of cottage Lane just before the rdaa car park for their four lakes. I use to do a night or two on the river knowing my car was safe when I was a member of aa. Fifteen minute walk with barrow alongside Burghfield lake. Great stretch of river.

    RDAA River Kennet

The rdaa ticket is great value Martin. You've got the option of the night permit as well. Some very good sections of the Thames to go at,Wallingford B being a favourite. The Kennet fished quite well for Barbel last season.

    Float rod for Trent barbel

Recently bought the 15 ft Accy Specimen as I was missing a 15 power in my collection. It was down to a choice of either the Daiwa conny or the Acolyte. Chose the Drennan being 34 grams lighter, the conny power advertised at 221 grams.Love the versatility of the new accy.Still swapping reels around...

    Chasing chub....

Jon I know it's a done thing in Chub angling. As long as the fish don't suffer from too many in a landing net at same time. I prefer to release a good walk along river. Landing a fish with a fish or more already in the net just don't feel right to me unless you take two landing nets then you may...

    Digital scales

Will never go back to Digitals. Past experience and fishing buddy's use of them. Imo there cursed with a death wish and **** up exactly on time when you need them to be reliable and spot on.

This could lead onto another Thread about retaining Chub. Keeping fish in a landing net?(How many) Using a keepnet? Releasing a Chub further up or downstream?

    Andrew Burt Floats

Just received some floats from Andy and am delighted with them.Very well made and are the end game for me. He includes tubing and there's even a tiny eye if you want to rig up like that. Interchangeable tips on the allround type that could adopt a starlight. Purchased his matched olivettes as...
