    Teme day tickets for grayling

I think the title speaks for it's self, but I want to take my mate to catch some grayling on the Teme, as he's never caught one. Teme being a good grayling river and pretty central to us both, seems the best place, but day tickets are hard to come by and I'd like to know it's possible to trot...

Some of you may have seen this report before, here is the pathetic conclusion.

    New chub record?

Thoughts? Can't see it sticking, but it's it really that big? https://www.anglingtimes.co.uk/news-2020/im-going-to-apply-for-the-british-record-chub

    Nice Trent Day Tickets

Sorry, I know this has probably been done to death, but 4 of us are looking to do a couple of days on the Trent at some point, so would appreciate any ideas for venues. As per title somewhere nice and not too busy preferably, with a good chance of each of us catching a few barbel, not after...

    Sport?

Our local stretch, good club, great fishing, but it's this really sport? Not that I like to think of fishing as a sport myself. But really, the same fish caught both consecutive days, from the same banker swim. Each to their own I suppose, but I'm not sure I'd be that proud of my 'achievement'.

    Eels

Just come across this on twitter, 3 consecutive nights, tens of thousands of elvers in the Severn catchment. Best anyone has seen in a long time. Good news, hopefully we'll all be getting sick of catching them again pretty soon! 😄

    Twin tip rods

Am I not looking hard enough, or is there a distinct lack of twin tip rods about these days? A mate of mine is looking to get a pair, he's not a regular on the bank, so doesn't want to spend too much, but I'm struggling to find any suitable that I can recommend. Anyone got any ideas?

    Interesting read

Stumbled upon this the other day (can't remember why or how!) interesting article by Bob Roberts from last year, sums up a lot of today's carpbeling crowd quite well I think. Reminds me never to go to Collingham weir! http://www.bobrobertsonline.co.uk/a-fist-full-of-barbel/

    Stupid weights

The recent dodgy looking 'big' barbel someone put up on the Wye thread reminded me of some posted on the BAA site in the past. So I had a look and found this beauty. Not to be outdone this fella put this up on the Severn Facebook page! At least the Fladbury one looks a double!

    Stocked barbel migration

Some interesting news here, Rowley and District angling stocked some marked barbel in the Severn near Ironbridge, 4 were caught in a match at Bewdley! https://m.facebook.com/RowleyDistrictAnglingSociety/photos/a.381626771940581.1073741831.338758812894044/1296142613822321/?type=3

    Neonicotinoids damage

When you destroy a major link in the food chain it's no wonder our rivers are struggling. With all the focus on other problems on our rivers this one seems to have been overlooked, but probably causes more or as much damage as the others...

    Some good news for once!

Shrewsbury river Severn Quarry matches breaking records at the moment, last week 52lb, this week 67lb! Don't know what was being caught but it rarely throws up barbel. Good news for the silvers mind as it wasn't that long ago this was considered ruined as a match venue, just goes to show...

    Oestrogen

Been over this before but an interesting new study, especially this sentence "This can lead to the complete disappearance of an entire fish population, and consequences for entire ecosystems" Oestrogen in birth control pills has a negative impact on fish

    Loads of stuff

Due to the unfortunate passing of my brother in law recently (cancer) I've taken on the task of trying to sell his fishing gear. He only took it up proper in the last couple of years and went a bit mad buying random bits of everything, so most of it has had little use, would probably suit...

    Abu 506M

Ok, so I've just bought one of these from ebay as everyone says they are the best, first closed face I've ever owned/used. I've heard about the rubbish drag but this seems really bad to me, unless you tighten it right up it slips as you reel in with any kind of weight on the line, which made...

    crucians

Ok, I've a feeling this is going to be a longshot sadly, but is there any pools, day ticket or club, around the midlands which contain crucian carp and only crucian carp? Obviously I'm not including other fish in that, but I can't find anywhere that doesn't hold bloody king carp! I've fished and...

    Rising water temps

With the impending rise in air temperature set for this weekend it looks like it might be worth a shout for the barbel. However, when would be the best time? How long does it take for the air temps to have an affect on the water?

    John Wilson Avon Quiver

This is the 11ft version without the extension, in near perfect condition as has hardly been used, slight chip in the varnish which has removed the 'N' from the word avon! So to recap a John Wilson Avo Quiver!:D £25 collected. May post at a push with obvious extra cost, but prefer pick up or...
