Darent Valley 13ft 2 piece specialist float rod.

To be fair Chris, I had dace etc when I used one of your freespirit advanced power float rods as well as chub and barbel and it was fine. The chub and barbel did put a decent enough bend in it and the tip section was surprisingly bent over with the dace and chublets. I only used Chris's rod...

Darent Valley 13ft 2 piece specialist float rod.

Me too, I prefer a 3 piece. The 11ft hardy avon rods are mangable in their two section models, now they really would be ideal for Neil if he could cope with a foot shorter rod and the cash outlay. Hardy also do a 11ft 6inch avon which again would be ideal.....no floppy mid sections on them avons!

Darent Valley 13ft 2 piece specialist float rod.

Yea, I forgot about that 🙄, although it is easy to strap a 3 piece up just the same as a 2 piece....for me at least. There are the two piece free spirit float rods like the ones Chris has, they would be ideal for Nieil purpose. Im sure chris will see this and possibly leave a comment about them.

Darent Valley 13ft 2 piece specialist float rod.

I think an older drennan tench float rod might be a good option. The super tench rods are very good but are only 12ft 9 inch long. The very next incarnations were 13ft and are excellent also. I think they often come up on eBay and a lot are unused, or little used.

That looks like a very strange angle to hold the rod at. It's kinda asking to break it!

    Catapult for maggots

To save wraped knuckles i've found holding the pult upside down works well, it also seems to fire the maggs further. My own favourite pult for maggs and corn is the stronger laccied drennan feeder pult.

    Normark float rod buyers guide

For me personally, a rod so soft doesn't give me enough power to control and boss a half decent fish. After saying that I have no idea which model the rod is.

    Normark float rod buyers guide

It just looks arced round to me, same as any other rod would be. I don't recall anyone saying which model it was that the person was using. Considerring the rods appear to be being available in the not too distant future I don't get why they haven't released the spec's of the rods ? The rods...

    Normark float rod buyers guide

I saw the chit chat about them on fb last night. There was no mention of the important points, rod weights, line ratings, and of course the probable cost. knowing that those three match rods have a fanatical following I would imagine the selers will put a hefty price tag on the rods. I saw a...

Daiwa air Z ags 14ft float rod

No, I think they're a solid alloy and the alloy is actually the colour of the seat, so it isn't a finnish on top of the alloy. They are a very classy reel holder. I get what Chris means about cold metal on your hands, but my hands don't come in contact with the metal. I find the coldest thing...

Daiwa air Z ags 14ft float rod

The hardy reel holders have plastic liners, so the reel feet are well looked after. They don't come loose once gently tightened up like the placy ones often do.

Daiwa air Z ags 14ft float rod

I think the propper screw down seats were only on the 15ft rods and above, and the feeder/leger rods. The other lengths of the BU rpds still had a stupid tourny type screw down reel holder.

    Chasing chub....

I only got 4 squeaker chub, so you blew me out Graham! To be honest though, I was really trying to get a barbel. Reason for trying so hard to catch a barbel is because it's so cold and i'm curious how low a water temperature I can tempt one to take my bait on float gear. I have been presenting...

    Chasing chub....

Those are belters Graham! My chub weren't so nice as your ones, mine were only squeakers, so I thought best to put the pic of the barbel 😉.

    Chasing chub....

I must have a screw loose lol....the air temp when I rolled up at the river today was 5 degrees, I think the river was 3 or 4 degrees so I wasn't brimming over with confidence! Anyhow, I fished fron 12.50pm till 2pm and was pleasantly surprised with the result over such a short period of time. I...
