What I liked about them is that he upgraded plastic bits to stainless and put a quality stainless swivel on it. I've not used it yet but it looks robust enough to me.
Mine has just arrived (ordered on Monday) I was going to make one but for £15 (he'll take an offer) + £3.50 postage I couldn't be bothered.
The smaller one can be cast with a barbel rod (he uses his 1.75lb) but the bigger (£18 one) needs a spod rod.

It does look a nice piece of kit and I've just been thinking of ways to fix my chair to my ruck sack, but £80 (cheapest I've found) is IMO a little over priced, although Fox are far from the only tackle company guilty of over charging.
Cheers Stephen, I've had a look at the 1.75 and the 2.0 in my local tackle shop and I have to say they look and feel very nice, far better than I expected at the very reasonable price.
I think I'm sold on them. Gonna be a couple of weeks 'till they're needed but unless a better bargain falls...

In desperation I've decided to go against my past habits and fish with 2 rods.
I don't want to spend £400 on a pair of hand built pieces of art so am looking at the Korum Barbel rods (the £50 ones).
They'll be used on the Swale, Tees & Ure mainly (small but fast flowing) so no extreme...

My Barbel fishing pretty much consists of fishing the Yorkshire rivers, staying mobile and using a single 1.75TC rod all very simple.
Next month I'm off to the Trent for the first time, where as it's a bit of a social I'll be picking a spot and sticking to it and as everybody else does...
I asked the same question a little while ago. I settled on the Nash Indulgence Ultra Lite, I've been very pleased with it and find it tall enough for my own dodgy knees.
