Daiwa tournament pro 13/15 match rod

Hi Paul I've just bought a cadence 16 foot #2 off here but not had chance to use it yet. I'm thinking 0.17 Reflo to 0.15 should be a good match for the rod on my centerpin? I also bought a Diawa spectron 17/20 rod with a higher rating of up to 8lb line. The diameters are similar but the cadence...

    Clear main lines

I know of an angler who uses bright orange line straight through for barbel and catches plenty of fish...Some good ones too! I'm convinced what spooks them more is swimming into line they 'can't' see.

Welcome Lee 😉 You're clearly experienced and have a good selection of gear 👌 I've learned so much from posts and anglers on here over the years and met some great blokes, some of which have become good friends. Also there are 'Fish- ins' occasionally on various rivers where you get to have a...

    river reports

Something I think is very relevant here is that social media has clearly had a negative impact on certain stretches of river I have fished. Its a double edged sword imo when anglers are posting on YouTube as I believe it will benefit clubs by encouraging more anglers to join that follow these...

    river reports

Many thanks Adrian 👍 What many anglers don't do is put a post up when they blank!..And I do blank just like anyone else 😆. But I've found it may help others to mention the conditions I was faced with, then they can decide for themselves. Regards Dave

    river reports

This is something I've noticed on here (lack of reports). And I think it's partly down to the way many barbel anglers post their catches these days..Facebook or Instagram. I very rarely post my catches on fb now and have come off the many river groups I was part of. I grew tired of the attitude...
