I did notice the grin. I think most items original in my home came from China like most homes. Know what you mean about LTI spares. I also changed most of mine on the TX4 especially the taxi roof light. The bulbs always blew there.
Gave that game up when i got fed up of the scum down here that...
Some people not only on this forum seem to think everything made in China must be rubbish. Some are but just think nearly every bit of fishing kit is made there now. Rods, line, reels, luggage etc. Most are rebranded or made for the most popular brands in this country. 99% of fishing line are...
Bought 2 of these 3 years ago. very sensitive. adjustment for vol, tone and sensitivity. Dare i say they are just as good as my old "D" ones. The battery lasts well with a plus it an ordinary 9v battery. eBay item number:172371454342 they have go up a quid since i bought mine but still a bargain...
For free lining. I use my Avon rods in 11ft. 1lb or 1 1/4 max. No need for anything heavier. Can control heavy wagglers whilst still having a sensitive tip. Also light enough to hold all day
Well i'll be double checking next time. 2oz feeder on a 2.6lb is not a good mix. But it does show how strong FloatFish is. Next time it's back to my usual 6 or 8lb line.
Had a session down the Rother (Sussex) yesterday. Wind blowing quite strongly around 38mph. Anyway after 30 minutes at each peg without even a knock or bump i decided to give it one more go at the furthest peg. For some reason i was having trouble sinking the line. Never had this problem with...
Like TFG, JW young rods have always had a very high Rrp and then they state a heavy discount the price. Not saying these are the only companies that do the same but unless they can prove that for 30 days in the past that they sold at the Rrp or they could be in deep Do Do by the trading...
Exactly what i was going to say Graham. I get my float paint from hobbycraft. About £4.50 a can. Lasts ages, i must have painted over 100 tips and still have loads left. The do Orange, Yellow and Red in Glo
Great replies. So it's not only me that prefers Cork over the black foam. To me manufacturers of course rods just want to fit cheap fitting such as Duplon but sell at a premium price
Chris, I had the same problem with my old John Wilson Avon rod. The rings always slipped and i had to use Electric tape to hold them in place. Unlike my MK1 that was full cork. In the end i had the handle, Cork and Duplon ripped off and changed to full Cork. IRC the Cork and Duplon was a MK2.
For as long as i can remember 99% of my rods have had Cork butts. I did try a blank with a Duplon butt but just didn't like the feel or look of it. I doesn't matter if it's a £50 rod or a £500 rod am not interested if it doesn't have a Cork handle. It could be the best rod in the world but if...
I ventured out again this morning. A little later this time at 5 AM. Little light flakes of snow in the air. -2 but no frost bit too damp for that. 1 1/2 hours later, 5 cuppa's and no bites but then it was bang after bang, bang with 6 Eels, sure the last 3 were the same one. 3 Chub and a sea...
With me i sleep very little, waking around 3 AM each morning. I only need 3 to 4 hours max sleep a night. So instead of knocking and banging about the house, waking everyone up i just go fishing. Been doing this ever since i left the Army 10 years ago. Also the cold weather doesn't affect me...
