    Tackle for sale

Don't dismiss the Darent Valley Specialist Rod 0.75lbtc. I have one and must say they are excellent rods for Chub and Tench. £35 is a bargain

    Barbel Size

Interesting question. I would have imagined there is a difference between stocked and wild fish.

    End of season

My best part of the session for Barbel and Chub is in the winter months. There are fewer people on the banks and the natural food like berries, insects, plants start to diminish. Also in the early winter, the fish start to get ready for the colder months stuffing their mouths with proteins. With...

    Reels

I would say it all depends on the manufacturer and model.

    Coated braid ?

I use ESP Striptease. I strip the coating back for a knotless knot and leave about 1/4 of an inch after to allow the hook some movement in the water.

    Stolen tackle

Golf club doesn't sell for much at boot sales. That could be the reason.

    Deeper Smart Sonar Pro Plus

Have no time for bait boats at all. Throws all the skill of casting out the window. The only remote control boat i would buy would be for a kiddies boating lake.

    Deeper Smart Sonar Pro Plus

Am personly against these gadgets for finding fish. I feel it takes all the fun and skill in Angling. But what you are using is for is a great idea. You may have slightly changed my mind on the use of these things.

    Landing Net Questions

I've been using the Korum Latex Barbel Spoon 27" Net for the last 2 sessions. Found the grub screw got a bit loose so i tightened them up and put a spot of super glue on each one. I've found the net very strong even catches it on the thorns that is hard enough to rip trousers and with a good...

    Backpack style tackle bags.

I've just used a 35ltr or a 50ltr rucksack i bought from eBay. Both in very hard wearing Camo colour. Both have 2 main pockets with 4 smaller pockets all the pocket have a mesh panel in them for your bit and bobs. Lots of adjustable straps for bank poles. I have a small seat strapped on them...

    Boilie size

I've started to use Boilies this season for the first time in angling. I too have been using CC Moore Pacific Tuna with the matching glug. I buy 15mm and 18mm and if needed i just trim them down to the size i need. You can trim down but not trim up. The trimmings, i add to the paste or mix them...

Drennan Acolyte plus 14ft float with centerpin reel

After a few Private messages. You can buy the rod without the reel but the price is the same. I just chucked the reel in as a freebie. The reel has got to be worth £15 on eBay, so you could sell it on and make a bit of money. The price includes the £20 i have to pay for delivery

Shimano 4000D or Daiwa Whisker SS2600

You can buy them directly from Shimano. I have also seen some nice alloy ones on eBay that are a direct fit from China. These have a Duplon hand grip. Sells for around £4.75. I have one on my Diawa black widow 4500. Well worth the money as a replacement or upgrade.
