    speedia size for barbel

Either will do but the wide drum deluxe is my favourite. This model has a 3 level ratchet so can cope with heavy flows.

    ATTs alarm - FS

Is anyone looking for an Orange ATTs alarm with a black, 2 magnet roller? After a trip a couple of months ago I 'lost' one of my alarms, so I bought a replacement. Last week I found the missing alarm in the pocket of a bag where it had absolutely no right to be. £60 including P&P and...

    Interesting Terminal Tackle

A friend of mine has been using such a rig for years, we've even named it after him although he does not claim to have invented it - http://www.fishingmagic.com/features/rigs/general_coarse_rigs/14964-the-smiffrig.html

    Centrepin for Fly Fishing

A centre pin spins freely in both directions so that line is pulled off by a trotting float or quickly retrieved at the end of a long trot and most have an optional ratchet which again operates in either direction. A fly reel is really just a line holder. It does not spin freely as it does not...

    2011 Compulsory Thames boat insurance.

I use Navigators & General. I paid £68 to insure my 12ft Sea Nymph. Covers me for up to £3000 for the boat & trailer plus £3 million 3rd party liability.

    Pike

I've got both Greys and Fox pliers and crimps are simply metal tubes so it makes no difference at all. They're just trying to get you to buy their gear.

Changing wind direction on a centrepin

I don't know about the reels you've listed but my Speedias, my Browning Revolver and my Young's Purist all 'click' no matter which way you wind so can be used left or right handed, top or bottom. I don't see why your reels should be any different.

    Compact camera with infrared remote

I use a Canon G6 with infra-red remote. I have it set to a 10 sec delay on the remote so I have plenty of time to set the timer running, bend down, pick up the fish and pose.

So who is enjoying the closed season?

I wasn't enjoying sitting under a brolly during a very heavy hail storm yesterday afternoon but I enjoyed the 14 lbs pike that took my bait less than 2 minutes after the hail stopped.

    New EA 2010/2011 Rod License.

I use the Direct Debit system so they just arrive on the doorstep.

    New EA 2010/2011 Rod License.

What I don't understand is why they have to use two envelopes and send me 2 Angling Trust leaflets just because I have 2 licenses. Why can't they send them in a single envelope and halve the P&P? They could save thousands of pounds considering the number of multi-rod users in the country.

    Advice needed

I don't know if the deal is still available but I got a Vodafone dongle last October which is a PAYG with £15 top ups. At the time only Vodaphone appeared to be offering PAYG instead of the monthly contract other companies were offering.

    Thames pollution

I hope that in time, the TAC can cover the Thames tributaries but it should be remembered that it was initially conceived as a means of combattting the dumping of huge amounts of human excrement in the lower Thames whenever London's ancient sewerage system cannot cope. Remember that below...

    Thames pollution

Jason, I passed on your your question to the TAC and got this reply from Jim, who started it all. Neil, tributaries are an interesting conundrum, we would like to be involved, but as we're only just of the ground we will review our remit in six months, however it is our intention to support...
