When I was younger we learnt how to match fish on our local canal, it was hard work to say the least but when we got on someware a bit easier, we caught better than most! I have recently changed to fishing for barbel concentrating on one stretch (which Ive just descovered is known to be hard)...
Evening all, fished a short session on the tidal Ouse this aft and had half a dozen barbel!
With the tt fishing well and the Ouse looking better and better all the time, I wonder if these type of venues will continue to improve. It's not the stereotypical barbel venue but they do seem to do...
They are indeed! I've caught them but only in one spot. Just wondered if anyone else fished the tidal. Naburn lock looks perfect but have only heard of odd catches.
Its not the most scenic river but its interesting what you can catch.
Great result Andreas! My first barbel was caught on float n pin tactics, something I will never forget. I've had them upto around 4lb but any size is great fun on the float!
