Hi sam,
If your pole is 13mtrs which by the name I Gues it is, then I would think it will cope fine with an extra but section.
How does the pole feel when it's at full length? If its sagging and feeling heavy then it may not take more length.
If it feels stiff and comfortable to fish with...
I prefer the older carbon. I have a whisker float rod and used to use a connoisseur pole that was better than the competition years after it came out. Newer carbon is much lighter and stiffer but I think it feels more brittle
Much appreciated Jon, I'd rather be told straight! I don't mind spending a lot of money on a rod if you get value for money. I know I will use it for a long time but I'd still like to have one in my hands before I buy one! I'll have a look at the daiwas.
Was using a friends shakespeare 15ft...
Thanks for the replies guys, plenty to have a look at. Ive had hold of some of the hardy rods (not the 15ft though)in my local shop. Does anyone know how they compair with the GTI?
Evening all,
Could anyone recommend a float rod that's strong enough to cope with good sized barbel but not too much of a poker! Preferably 14/15 ft. I don't mind paying a bit if it's worth the money.
Many thanks
Evening all,
how far will barbel usualy travel to spawn?
ive walked about 5 miles of my local river today and watched barbel spawning for the first time. some of the shallows had 3/5 fish on whereas others had upwards of 20! I wondered weather the areas with greater numbers held more fish...
I'd take a flooded river every time!
It's hard going on a normal river (mainly fish the wharfe) with catches of one or two fish if your lucky. Add 2mtr of floodwater and I was averaging 3 fish a session.
I tend to fish large lumps of garlic meat with no free offerings. Drop the bait into a...
In all areas of match fishing you will find anglers that win regularly and ones that mainly make up the numbers. Any match held regularly will have a venue expert! Someone who has got it sorted out or maybe only fishes that venue. Even the top open matches are mainly wone by the same few people...
Pre stretched lines are designed for pole fishing were the elastic takes the pressure! I wouldnt use pre stretched line fishing a waggler never mind using it for barbel.
Prestons power line is by far the best line I have come across right through from 0.6 to 0.21. I'd also agree with not using...
Hi john, the daiwa's can be roped down but they do seem very fragile! Mines been inside out no end of times but to its credit it always goes back again!
