Fox Horizon X4 or Daiwa Powermesh?

I sold some fox rods due the not being able to fully secure the reel properly. They were fox reel seats on the ones I had by the way

brilliant, re-sealable just the thing to stop it looking manky on a warm evening and for storing it in rather than a tupperware tub

How about a adding a little garlic puree https://www.tesco.com/groceries/en-GB/products/253126769 to make a cheesy / garlic past. the oil will help keep it soft as well as adding the flavour

Advice on a medium feeder, winklepicker, light Avon type rod. Rivers.

Dave Lumb is suffering at the moment due to the lack of blanks from Harrisons, I believe he is doing repairs to get through this bad period.

    Where do the barbel go?

On the Don itself I've had them trotting with a bunch of 3 to 4 maggots, especially over undulations in the river bed where they are tucked in out of the main flow. I also stop using high oil based pellets / feed as the water cools as I believe the oils / scent don't leech out as much.

    Clothing for the larger man

Preston DF30, rated at 20000mm static head (generally fishing waterproofs are between 3000 and 10000) is really dry, I used to wear one for winter pike fishing on my boat and never got wet. They are a shell type suit so you can layer up underneath to keep warm. They are also generous fitting...

    Hull and district pike venues

I used to be a member, but find this club https://scunthorpeanglers.net/fisheries/ to be better value and more productive, plus there's plenty of the River Trent on the book as well. The River Ancholme around Brigg is an excellent predator venue along with the Warping Drain, neither of which are...

    Organising my rig bits

I use these https://www.fishingmegastore.com/tackle-boxes/stillwater-tortoise-shell-bits-box~22142.html cheap as chips and they are compact and holds loads of rig items. I managed to pick some opaque ones up which are much easier to find things inside than the darker coloured ones. I think the...

They certainly look well and its good to get the size comparison

    Penn BAITRUNNER

Physical size mainly as I tend to use the Shimano GTE's in either 6000 or 8000 size on the Trent due to distance and lead / PVA bagged pellet weight considerations.

    Tidal Trent Fish

The non tidal anglers tend to be more secretive and not as active on facebook.

How do the spool sizes compare to say Shimano or Daiwa, for example the 6000 size. Adam, what size spool is on the 4000 in comparison to a 6000 Shimano GTE Baitrunner.

    Baitcasting reels

The Lure Anglers Society is worth keeping an eye on, there's occasionally some good reels up for sale https://www.lureanglers.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=40230 I personally know this seller and can assure you that he doesn't sell tat, he's a proper tackle tart and based in Doncaster

    Soaked pellets

I've got a pellet pump, which works by vacuuming the air out and pulling water into dry pellets that I had to soften pellets for pole fishing, I've not tried it with bigger pellets but it should work which means you could soften small amounts at a time as and when required leaving non to go off...

Shimano Bantam Reel Oil ? alternatives ?

I've used the TG Rocket fuel oil for years now, starting with the bearings on my multipliers and always been happy with it https://www.veals.co.uk/acatalog/rocket-fuel-2476.html

If you fall in the water

All well and good, but he jumped and was expecting to go in, also only slightly above shallow water with a nice low and stable dry bank.... add the element of surprise, steep muddy banks and it could well be a different matter.
