    Big Cat sightings

The point being made, is that predators such as leopards, can go unnoticed, even in densely populated cities in India. I'm totally open minded about their existence. However, there does seem to be a substantial volume of evidence that supports the existence of leopards/pumas living in the...

    Big Cat sightings

There's an incident that all can see online, where domestic dogs were being taken in an Indian city. The locals thought it was caused by a single leopard. They set traps, and as a result, caught quite a few leopards. That from a densely populated city. The English countryside is not exactly...

    Environment Agency Action

Until such time, that it's completely illegal for a water company, to discharge raw sewage into any water course, then it will just carry on. I have no confidence in the EA or the water companies. Most are now aware, of the conflict of interest, regarding EA pension fund investment in water...

    Tench 2024

Out of interest Bill. Have the tench spawned down your way yet? That nice fish on your mat looks as though it hasn't.

    Weed rake recommendation

Does anyone have a recommendation, for a practical, good quality, weed rake?

    Help

Mine cost about £95, new, about 4 years ago. Fairly light with arm rests. The stitching is starting to part. So potentially it could be inconvenient on a remote river in the middle of the night. Overall, not bad to date. Although some on this thread have described the legs randomly 'dropping...

    Big Cat sightings

https://images.app.goo.gl/ejRAb2Y3yagg4SPn9 An internet search brought it up. With a picture of the dead animal. As expected, not in the main stream news. Seems that the 'authorities' in their 'wisdom' don't want it widely reported.

What are your top ten angling books?

I hadn't heard of the book before I saw it. It turned out to be quite a collectable.

Seeking a mini big pit reel - any suggestions?

Further than the ~60 yards I'm currently achieving with my loaded 2 ounce feeders. Using 2nd hand 90's Shimano aero 6000's currently. From the sound of it, I don't think I'll be casting much further. Just about to start fishing the bigger pits further south.

What are your top ten angling books?

Picked that up for £5 at a second hand book shop.

What are your top ten angling books?

Yes Paul that Gustafson book is quite a good read (sort from the fishing tackle chapter). Interesting chapters on the Oxfordshire gravel pits near his home.

Seeking a mini big pit reel - any suggestions?

Seeking the above for my tench rods (Chimera 2's 12 1.75 lb TC). Fishing at range. Must have a bait-runner facility & good engineering reliability. Doesn't have to be the Daiwa Shimano brands.

    Big Cat sightings

I read in some on-line media release (~2 months ago) that a juvenile puma (mountain lion/ cougar) had been found dead on a road in north Wales suggesting a breeding population. This breed being indigenous to the USA yet rarely ever seen by every day folk.

    July Wye trip

I haven't been there for 6 years Graham. Access has improved 👍.

What are your top ten angling books?

Agree with that Alex. Tony Miles had that knack. John Watson's Pikers Progress and Terry Hearn's In Pursuit of the Largest takes you there as well. Both extremely focused anglers. Watson's particularly humorous in parts after big pike in extreme conditions. All three, not 'how to do it books'.

    July Wye trip

Unfortunately, even the day ticket stretch on the Wye at Ross, will be a struggle, if mobility is a problem. I'm struggling to think of any stretch on the Wye (that I know about) if mobility is an issue. Possibly, at a push, Hereford town centre.

    Big Cat sightings

That's the point I'm making Neil. I've seen hundreds of dead badgers on the road side but never a live one in the wild. Farmers and keepers are generally the ones that do see them. They deal with the situation, not wanting the publicity, or people wandering over their land. I have an angling...

Neil. Check out 'big cat conversations' on YouTube. There a guy from Hampshire that features that has that type of proof.

    Big Cat sightings

I believe 'biggish' cats (leopards, European lynx and puma) are out there in small numbers in our countryside. I've spent a lot of hours out in remote areas over the decades, yet, I've never seen a live example, of some of our more common mammals, such as the badger and the pine martin.
