Ive got a very similar looking rod and when it went off to Dave Lumb for re-ringing he reckoned it was a North Western Avon.
Floppy action and excellent fun to play fish on.

I had this a few years ago, moaned to Daiwa and they sent me out quite alot of freebies in compensation.
Ultimately stopped using it though and just used daiwa method feeder line instead.

It’s almost as if no one has ever watched an episode of Go Fishing? The edits are awful and it is so obvious that this stuff goes on.
Martin has been stitched up and from what I can make out in the clip the fish hasn’t even been unhooked to be rehooked.
Couldn’t care less tbh; if he’d left...
There is lots of emotive stuff from barbel anglers regarding barbel being in stillwaters; I reckon they just need the environment to be wet with enough oxygen and food to live👍
Its only barbel anglers that are bothered, and of course that is totally fair enough.

I miss mine so much 😢
Ive got a butt section that doesnt fit the quiver top section😤 There was something so sound about using this rod for everything river related, I miss it have I mentioned that 😩
Didnt like the Darent Valley 11ft avon/quiver; looks nice but doesnt feel right, big ol' flat...
Massive hard hookbaits - 25mm x 32mm barrels. Thinking behind it being they are too big and hard for the crays to actually get their claws around.
Quite selective in what fish will pick them up too. Had a mega run of doubles with an angling buddy using these.
That is exactly what American and British government does. American and British debt is in the trillions- incomprehensible figures; and most of the money has been used to create a wealth gap.
Sound fiscal management is a soundbite used to gaslight; it is relevant to household budgets perhaps...
Bring the water companies back into public ownership and educate the general public so that they understand that government money is just printed and they can literally print as much or as little as they like. Water companies have a barefaced cheek in saying that they'll finally do what they...
Quest for Barbel by Tony Miles and Trefor West. This is the Holy Grail of barbel books and was pioneering in the info' that it revealed (people take it for granted now).
Elite barbel is excellent, and Trefor's book was great too but Quest for Barbel lays the foundations.
All imho of course.
Not for me, Clive.
My Old Wilson has turned into a bit of a 'Trigger's broom' over the years but now Im left with 2 butt sections that dont properly fit the 2 remaining top sections that I've got🤪
Live system works well, Ive mainly used it in the winter on easyish lakes but know of someone who caught very well on it from the Great Ouse last winter.
Smells lovely too which makes a nice change.
One thing Id say though is I dont think its a food bait as such so wouldnt want to pre bait...
