I can make an educated guess as to who the dapper chaps were (one of them a club bailiff), cane not for me but each to their own. Like the original mini great car but would I prefer to drive around in it or my wifes new countryman , sure you can guess the answer.
Beaver dams can legally be removed if they are less than 2 weeks old, another daft rule from the EA, just make sure you check your fisheries regularly:

One such non-licensable action is the removal of dams less than 2 weeks old. Beavers build dams to retain water and create an aquatic refuge...
Welcome Peter, I would suggest you tube search for barbel fishing loads of tips on there. Can't help with Irwell as when I moved out of Manchester a long time ago nobody would have fished th Irwell for anything as it was so polluted.
The EA say that only rivers that flow from West to East have indigenous barbel in. They used to say that they wouldn't stock barbel into other rivers but this argument isn't used now. They have stocked barbel into rivers all over the country but still have the policy that they only stock if...
Day tickets for the Royalty will be sold on South West Trusts website next season.
RDAA members will be able to access the fishery without obtaining another ticket but will have no concessions on the pools.
I had a meeting with the water company today, they aren't sure what they are going to do but will be coming back to the club by the end of February. I have already posted on the club forum regarding this and that is where I will post any updates. I am sure a way forward will be in place for RDAA...

This December we stocked another 200 barbel into Throop, these were supplied from the EA hatchery at Calverton and are about 12 inches in length. 17 of them have radio tags in them which will emit signals for 12/18 months. We have receivers on about 5 miles of river which will pick up signals...
After my previous post regarding the secrecy of the previous records venue the angling times have published it as the Rother today, I assume it doesn't matter now the record isn't from there!!!.
Correct Tim but it was the first time the venue for the barbel record wasn't named, I understand why it wasn't but still find it sad that because of the circus who will know where it came from "normal" anglers aren't told.
The good thing is at least it has been caught from a river that has been named , better than the "secrecy" surrounding the present record which as far as I am aware is the only british record that has been accepted without the venue being released. I know where it came from as I assume most...
