    Which Acolyte rod

Kev Baines 3 piece Specialist would be another fine rod to use in both situations. Plays just like a softer actioned Torrix.

    Which Acolyte rod

    Mark Tunley 1.75tc float rod

    New floats available

Have you had any PM's? I will take them if not.

    Which Acolyte rod

I am going to disagree with folk on here. There are rods that will move between the two disciplines.

What do people make of this bait?

    Another tackle shop going

I bet it is nowhere near as popular nowadays as one might think.

    Great Ouse stocking

I think for me that would be the hope too. - access for all kinds of anglers to fish it.

North western barbel specialist vs lake specialist

I might say that they were the same rod but only way to tell would be to put them side by side in a jig or brace and hang the same weight from each.

    Daiwa QD Reels

Totally agree with that statement Tim and have decided to go with some new fightin drags from Japan. Some swims I fish these days requires the rod top to be submerged which changes the resistance required (consistently) for the registration of small chub bites/takes, coupling that with the...

    Daiwa QD Reels

It is Terry, that's why I enjoyed the fightin drag reels and essentially what makes playing fish on a pin an enjoyable experience.

    Daiwa QD Reels

I think I am going to dig out some old Twin Power Ci4 with Tri Drag out and give them a go. They're still boxed and brand new and rare as hens teeth though.

    Daiwa QD Reels

Being honest, would you use the Whisker 25QD for barbel fishing? I have been looking at those inparticular but wondered if they were too big. Rarely fish a couple of rod lengths out.

    Daiwa QD Reels

Happy new year y'all. Does anyone have any experience of any of Daiwa's Quick Drag reels in their barbel fishing? Have been using a baitrunner with the front drag (quite a cheapo), but realised the front drag is wanting quite a bit. Thought that one of the QD's would be just the ticket, but not...

Search for the ultimate roving luggage setup

Continuing the vein in this thread regarding roving tackle set up, I thought my 17 litre bucket had it all - nice little tray in the top separating bits and bobs from other stuff like bait in the bottom. On the river for a few days however things change a little. I found myself adding to the...

Gamma POLYFLEX High Performance Copolymer Line

Copied from the Pallatrax website; WE ADVISE THAT YOU BUY BY DIAMETER, AND NOT BREAKING STRAIN, AS YOUR CURRENT 15LB B/S WILL PROBABLY HAVE A SIMILAR LINE DIAMETER TO GAMMA 0.33. Would anyone else consider this advice to be slightly at odds with the supposed benefits that an amazing proprietary...
