Try having a look at sailing oilskins (a traditional term I guess). You can get salopettes and a separate jacket if you want, would be breathable and have goretex/technical ratings, expensive but absolutely designed to keep water out whilst being active. Colour might be a problem though, black...
I'm keen to build an automated water temperature sensor, it would have a sim card and use 4g to send the temperature, every 30 mins via http, to a backend I'd build. It would be battery powered, some rough calculations make me think the battery would last several months although solar charging...
No idea what the fishing is like where you're based and this is a bit leftfield... but If you were to fish for carp in rivers would it give you a better choice of swims?
Hadn't looked at it until just now, 134,610 barbel stocked into rivers and stillwaters in 2020 - 2021 (1-2 year old fish). Would be great to know how many in rivers and which rivers.
