Had a 'thing' for Drennan Tench Float rods - Mark 1 and 2 and Super Tench. These could be picked up for around 40 to 50 quid in the early days. Unfortunately things got daft with examples reaching £200. However, you could still pick good examples up occasionally at non
silly money prices. Seen...
There are some other decent blanks around (not mentioned so far in this thread) but finding them is the main problem.
One such example being built:

Still got a pair of 1.75 Interceptors Joe - which have seen long service and caught me a lot of barbel from summer to winter flood conditions. Keep meaning to rebuild them and maybe I will. Reviewed them back in 2001 Link
Interceptors
I also have a brand new 1lb 10oz Interceptor which I built...
Built on some Conoflex and North Western blanks as well.
The Daiwas were Whisker Kevlar in the light carp range - including a delightful Whisker 1lb test 11' 'floater' rod.
Tricasts were 11' and 12' ranging from 1.25 to 2.5 test.
Now we are spoilt for choice regarding blanks and test curves -...
Built a couple of 11' Daiwa rods from the blanks many years ago also built some Tricast 11' rods. Bought them through my local tackle shop (Veals in Bristol).
Handles are important too. Give 'em some thought. Standard pipe fittings are easy and convenient to fit but it's nice to minimise the 'plastic' and make them more comfortable.

Working on some new rod building equipment Rob but when that's done I may do a run of builds. 😉
Got some blanks and quite a bit of fittings and cork.

Personally wouldn't. Be patient and get what you want, unless there's a bargain to be had. Wouldn't be the first time that I've bought a new rod and rebuilt it to my spec.
Just my opinion, but off the shelf rods can be quite varied.
Did a hear a shout of 'we knew he'd say that'

A bit of additional advice:
Make sure that you get decent fittings and especially decent quality cork for the handle. I've seen some expensive rods that has poor cork laced with filler. This should lessen the need for rod maintenance in the future.
The 11' Torrix is a great rod and used them...
Having built and owning all the rods you mention and quite a few other Harrison blanks would most likely go for the 1.75 Torrix at 12'.
I would also urge you to try before you buy - to see if the blank actually meets your preferences.
Graham's suggestion of a pair is good advice.
Probably built...
U40 QUIK-BOND ROD BOND ADHESIVE
Bonds almost any material to any material, i.e. cork, metal, wood, graphite, fiberglass, EVA etc. Retains a degree of flexibility.

Yes Joe - excellent bags and bought a number sometime ago. Really well thought out bags - my favourite is the RUSH 72 - almost too many pockets and sections with very comfortable straps. Also the webbing loops to add bits and sections for extra capacity Only negative is the price.

Well I knew what you meant Neil.
Accumulated lots over the years - some up to 3' plus.
Must have hundreds of tips - carbon, fibreglass and even a wallet of hollow.
Good way of salvaging some busted tips - instead of chucking them away.........

Interesting. Made quite a few based on the 12' 1.25 Torrix blank. My own based on the now no longer available chestnut colour with plug in quivers and a plain second spare tip. Did a few with spliced tips as well. Great rod with plenty of power in the in the butt - more so than the i.5 I fancy...
