The fellow rod builder mentioned in the thread (Andy Sliwa) has made a number of the Evoke 11' Twin rods and have been very well received and popular - as are the big river Evoke 2.5 12'.
'Your' rod builder may ask you the length, diameter and shape of handle you prefer, quality of cork, position of reel seat and many other questions - but on the other hand - maybe not.
Thanks Rich. I've used loads of IPS but for a less bulky feel I prefer the Fuji VSS. There are quite a few seats offered by other manufacturers that might fit the bill.
A lot of Fuji components are interchangeable and there are some available as 'extras'. As an example a VSS16/15 used in wind...
Treated myself by building a new Harrison Chimera 2 (well I was bored).
Thought I'd experiment with the relatively new Fuji TCH reel seat and so fitted one along with a few bits of hardwood. Full decent grade cork handle.

Good to see your rod again Dave - remember them well.
Still dabble rod making and keeping an eye on new developments. Currently treating myself to one or two Chimera 2 rods with the relatively new Fuji TCH reel seat (TCH = titanium carbon hybrid) which is light, very comfy but expensive.

Although one of the prototype i-floods was produced with a carbon weave on the butt section, this was dropped in favour of a plain carbon rod to match the bfw i-power. They were issued originally with a tinted gloss charcoal finish. So, not a chimera.

Yes, 12' Torrix 2lb and 1.75 butts are common and designed like that.
Although there are tips that physically fit various other butt sections, they are not intended to be paired.

No problem Richard - Actually done that a few times - use the cavity inside the rod just front of the butt cap providing the inside diameter of the blank is sufficient. If not time for an alternative.
