    Lidl garlic sausage

Ok, i've only caught gudgeon...you chaps clearly know what catching barbel is all about, thanks for educating me, much appreciated 😉👍.

    Lidl garlic sausage

I'm sure you would have issues if the hook was being yanked into your mouth. Ok, jmo I know, but I see no reason/excuse to use such a huge hook to catch even the largest of barbel. Barbel have relatively small mouths, so half a tin of meat has to be whittled down in size before it can be...

    Mortimer and whitehouse new series

What do you mean wind up, I thought everyone liked watching Robson Green, although he admits he's only a poncy actor 🤣😂.

    Mortimer and whitehouse new series

Just to show how much I dislike Mortimer and Whitehouse.....I prefer to watch Robson Green by a country mile 😱😱😱🤣😂.

Against my better judgment I watched that rubbish 🙄.

    Floodwater line

When I used to do a fair bit of legering for barbel I always liked fox soft steel and fox camo. I think they do fox soft steel camo now. Line strength for me was 12lb but they do heavier stuff should someone desire it.

    Wanted 15ft float road

Yes Graham, the 14ft marksman is ideal for them. I often prefer to use a swivel to attatch the hooklength, biggest reason I do is because of line twist caused by retrieving the bait back quickly in fast flowing water. I have found that using a thicker line, 6lb sensor at .23/.24 negates the...

    Wanted 15ft float road

Speaking from my own experiences of targetting grayling in some of the faster flowing areas of large powerful flowing rivers, fish of what people would consider to be classed as specimen grayling I did have some issues catching them whilst using softer actioned rods. I found that because of the...

I still have a swallow mkII and they are similar. Has the insight got the knurling on the spool rim Graham? They are very sturdy reels.....but pink 👀🤪 😉👍

    Piscario centrepins

Sorry Mike if it came across that way m8, wasn't meant to 👍. I'm not too concerned about having a super light reel, it's just that the okuma bowler reel is a very light reel which is supposed to be made from magnesium....according to the scrip on the box that is.

    Hardy15' float rod on eBay?

As Graham said, I think they only did a specimen in 13ft Alan, the 14 footer was rated to 8lb same as the specimen 13ft rod though and it is great for float fishing for barbel. I targetted barbel with the 14ft specialist rod and it was excellent....imo. I sold the rod i'd been using, but I...

    Narrow Drum Speedia

If i'm honest i'm not a fan of speedias, had them and moved them on. Having said that, your doing a very nice job of tidying that one up Alan, the chap who did that foot replacment did a crackin job!

    Cheap Lightweight Fishing Jacket

They do some crackin stuff on temu, I recently got some excellent camo coloured thermal tops and trousers for 11 quid a set. They are really good quality! I also got a couple of hooded long sleeved sun protective tops which had a built in snood also for less than a tenner each, again, great...

    Piscario centrepins

Funny enough Richard, on one occassion whilst playing a barbel I did flick the ratchet on just to see how much the rod bent over before the ratchet gave and released line. I was surprised as it gave line earlier than i'd expected and I finnished up trying it several more times after with other...

    Piscario centrepins

The ratchet spring on my sheffield went weak, but that was after many years of use. It did break after a while of going weaker. I replaced it with a new one which was very stiff and that spring only lasted about 18 months! I replaced it with another one which is quite firm now. The same...

    Piscario centrepins

To be fair, i'm not really botherd if the reel is alloy (it says it's magnesium on the box though), however, I am very much happy about it's weight, it feels so light in use and it gives line with the very slightest of flow. Regarding the brittle robustness thoughts about the reel, a m8 of mine...
