I have heard that someone who lived not far from me and is now deceased took up fishing for them and put numbers of juveniles he got from a nearby lake in which they breed, into the W Avon, Severn, Thames and Trent. How true I do not know but all rivers where they are reported. Looking at the...
I find the attitude of some writing on this thread quite unobjective. Determining what they say as fact and rubbishing anyone that dares question their opinion, mostly though because they will not state what they want done or will do to rectify the problem as they see it of otters.
I have...
I must admit I don't look after mine as I should with a wipe of a cloth if it starts slipping as good as it gets, it still performs admirably. I now have 2 as I thought I had lost 1 and subsequently bought another which is now on loan to a mate who had his gear nicked. When my old one did start...
It has been confirmed today by Zac Goldsmith The Minister of State for the Environment that he is committed to have riparian habitat and buffer zones included in the new Environmental Land Management Schemes. I should have more information shortly and will post it up! DEFRA have so far delivered...
I’ve got a 16ft on a trailer and it gets plenty of use. Although you probably don’t need a 16ft I cannot see you getting something to do what you describe that does not need a trailer.
Unless you are concerned about the small weight difference is there any need to get the Ci4? I bought the standard Aeros a few years back and from what I recall the Ci4 body parts are the only difference but someone might know otherwise? That is definitely the case with my Ci4 5500 XSC's it is...
What have the EA said? From what I understand as the river bed was affected the fisheries team can take some action. Are you any nearer to finding out who and why this was done?
I have a meeting with DEFRA shortly. Some of the people in the meeting are responsible for freshwater fisheries, I spoke to them previously about the habitat destruction on the rivers Warwickshire Avon and Arrow at Marlcliff. I was told post Brexit they were intending to change legislation...
Thanks to the Angling Trust I watched this today instead of the inside of the house
👍
Bonus! The tip kept going and I had some nice chub on bread out of a couple of swims. River looks great and I’m lucky it’s just down the road so I’ll be able to make the most of my favourite time of year on...
I’m in the need be controlled camp. Numbers have increased dramatically and the problem is not just confined to the UK but Europe and other parts of the world. Therefore I don't believe that the arrival inland is simply down to lack of food in UK waters. Even if it were and the spread inland is...
I'm with Graham on this. I have used a keepnet for years and too many times I have not used one and stopped catching especially when chub fishing. I fished matches and organised them for years as well as looking after the venues. Over that time I have seen many fish damaged by poor handling and...
I use Sufix 832 for long range feeder fishing although I don't do much of that anymore. I also use it quite a lot lure fishing in the sea. It pulls big wrasse out of kelp beds and seems very reliable, nice and soft and easy to fish with. I would recommend it.
