Loss of fish haunting - redemption

There seems to be quite a few around there 5-8lb as well as the bigger ones. A mate caught that fish at Christmas and I weighed it for him, it was the same, just seems a strange shape

Definitely won’t! I just think it’s sad and not worth any attention. Cheers Andy

Loss of fish haunting - redemption

It was a barbed Drennan barbel hook. Both came out easily with forceps. The one that broke of was in a strange position.

Loss of fish haunting - redemption

I've been there :)! 2nd knee replacement now. It is awkward, I look at where I have to go and say to myself 'right, off you go' and hope I don't drop/spill it. 😂

Loss of fish haunting - redemption

I'm sure we have all lost a big fish we never saw and we keep living that feeling and experience? Well, I cannot get out much or go far because of my recent op but the weather Sunday was such that I had to - for a few hours at least. I managed on my crutches to get my gear to a very safe peg on...

    Digital scales

I’ve used a set of those for a few years and find them superb. I like the 9V battery and although I carry a spare I’ve never needed it. They are very accurate and easy to use. I also carry a set of 9000’s as spare and test both regularly. I’d definitely recommend them

    Xmas pressy

I'm looking forward to that as well! Some nice barbel and chub coming out ATM. We can sort out a date in March or if you can't wait before the 24th Jan as I'm having my other knee replaced.

    Vehicle of choice

I’ve been very impressed with Subaru. My Lexus is great and handles launching and recovering my boat as well as mild off road, a superb everyday car. I be had Landrover but running costs and reliability put me off somewhat. The Subaru ticks all the boxes except fuel economy as I do about 25000...

    Vehicle of choice

Never owned one yet but quite possibly my next car will be a Subaru (currently got a Lexus), they would seem to fit your description of what you want.

    Angling crossroads.

Been through it with my knees. Being stubborn and loving rivers I struggled on, Naproxen, injections, rope, slide down crawl back up. The Naproxen gave me kidney failure after 10 years so I stopped it, surprising how much difference it had been making anyway, just before Christmas last year my...

    Reels for trotting

I've got several and used them since they came out replacing some ageing Shimanos. Very nice to fish with, solid, great drag if you want/need it and look good too! Excellent reels IMO.

    Charity donation from fish-in

Thanks Graham and thanks for organising. Sorry I didn't get to see everyone but those I did all seemed to be having a good time and were complimentary about the fishery despite it proving hard work with very clear water and an overnight drop in temperature to 4°C. Happy to welcome you all back...

    Fish In Warks Avon. Update

That would be Andrew Standleys (not BFW), he was on that peg Saturday, said it was hard going. Keep it for next time, great to meet you and sorry you didn’t catch!
