What Christian said. It’s all a bit pretentious playing a fish on the ratchet 😜

Not too much line. Take your time and be patient. Line guards are ok but can be restrictive. Learn to Wallis cast (you’ll thank me).

Any idea of budget Paul? For a couple of hundred quid you could get a decent used J. W. Young & Sons Purist II or similar which is a good all rounder. For a hundred you’d get an Okuma Aventa VT1002 or a decent Speedia. Don’t buy a crappy cheap one like Marco Cortesi because you get what you pay...

Ohh mate, that’s gutting 😔 I think you can just try ringing the number on their website. I think that was how I got hold of him last time. Garry Mills might be a better bet for that repair though. Hope you get it sorted pal, at least it’s not your only reel 🙂

    DRENNAN Specialist rod info

New but good reviews The Korum glide mono. @Richard Isaacs uses it and likes it. He may chip in with feedback. 3. Pricier but good Dave Harrell Pro Match is good stuff. I use...

    New rod bag.....

Gents, do not under any circumstances forget the rule of brownie points: there is no rule! Brownie points can be awarded or deducted at random, negated for not fulfilling a duty correctly, and changed with no notice. It is a scheme designed to keep muggins in check… and it works 😅
