    Isotopes

Isotopes contain tritium which is a colourless gas. It emits low level radiation by beta emission which excites a phosphor and it is the colour of the phosphor that determines the colour we see. Agree with the scale of visibility given above.

Choosing between three barbel rods to get me started

That is a kind offer from Biil. I used those Wychwood rods until a year or two ago and they are OK rods for the money, even more so when gifted! My advice would be to take up Bill's offer and once you get fishing on your new waters have a chat with other anglers and get their feedback on the...

If You Could Offer One Tip...

Find places you can float fish. Far more rewarding than watching rod tops.

    Spam

The price Spam still compares favourably if you work out the price per kg compared with boilies.

    Pellet users

The first bait I used in the modern era when I returned to coarse fishing after a long period of fly only was Dynamite Halibut. This season I have gone back to where I started and use their pellets in a variety of sizes for feed and bigger ones as hookbait and find they work well. As winter...

    Tidal Trent Fish

No one has mentioned repeat captures which I feel is a likely factor.

    Boilies

Sticky Baits Krill works for me as well but I change to a more meaty flavour around this time of year. Chub love'em too.

    Angling Trust

This would appear to be biased towards commercial type fisheries especially those who host matches attended by anglers who fish many waters. I would have thought the responsibility and financing at these venues should be met by the owners. Any club renting water will normally have written into...

    Password compromise

Sounds like a scam to me.

Absolutely madness what people will pay

A lot of interest in older stuff at the moment especially if unused or vgc. Quality centre pins are 50% up in price over the last 18 months.

Free spirit vs Daiwa barbel rods

I think you would have to compare rods at similar price points as both manufacturers offer a range of models and FS offer float rods which I am not sure Daiwa do (could easily be wrong). I like my Free Spirit, Spirit Barbel Golds but having said that I have never picked up a Daiwa barbel rod.

    Floats

I'm interested as well. How and where will they be available?

    Feeders

Think what you could charge the carp boys though Richard. I think the current rate of Carp Tax is around 200% :)

    Drennan specialist rods

Yes, I forgot to mention in my reply carbon tips rather glass which are better for most chub fishing. Also they do seem short of line guides whereas the Drennan Twin Tip Duo almost has too many (and they bend easily).

    Drennan wide gape specialist hooks

I will second the recommendation for Bank Tackle Wide Gape hooks. I bought a pack to try a while back and will be using them as my go to hook now. Great price which includes postage and service is always excellent too. Lots of other useful terminal tackle on their website and not restricted...

    Drennan specialist rods

I bought the 1.25TC, 12ft version in a closing down sale at a tackle shop for under £70. I cannot say I am hugely impressed or particularly disappointed either so I guess it is a middle of the road contender. I doubt I would have forked out the full asking price as I don't think the quality of...

    Centre pin advice

I have a number of different pins, Rapidex old type and new, Purist II and a Youngs Bob James. In terms of being most suitable legering I would say the Bob James and the Purist II for float fishing.
