    Next level of irresponsible…

Backed to the same spot today, and I am really angry, the rods are gone, but someone left a few rig packages there, I think it’s safe for me to assume it’s the same guy who left the rods there and came back with some new rigs to replace one I binned. This is getting ridiculous and I decided to...

    Trudex reels

It’s a nice looking reel, I almost get one myself to replace my original trudex for roach fishing.

    Meat cutters

True, but the original uses high quality wire, I am just wondering if the copy has the same quality.

    Meat cutters

I see a few Tilly ones on eBay, do you know if these are original or copies?

    Next level of irresponsible…

These whips are very old, and the back cap is missing and some tape is used there…more like unwanted tackle? But pure madness, especially with line and hook attached, could cause damage to animals

    Next level of irresponsible…

Went to a small stream this morning, found two rods with line and hook attached, these are cheap rods and the hook is a bit rusty, I removed the line, gutted it into small pieces and binned it. what the hell are in these people’s mind…

    Specialist Videos

From the trailer, seems barbel banx was filmed near a weir with strong current? I think it’s completely fine to use heavy gear in this condition.

    Specialist Videos

The chub video in Oxford is the only filmed I watched, simply because it was filmed at the stretch 20mins walking from my home, I really enjoyed it, maybe I will subscribe to it for a month when there are more contents.

    Barbel float Rod difference Diawa

Assuming you already know the depth and set the float correctly, an alternative method is to tie the hook just under the float with a pva string, but this method works better for still water than trotting.

    Barbel float Rod difference Diawa

I use an inline slider float with short rods. And I’d avoid long trotting in such situation, and get as close to the spot as possible

    Barbel float Rod difference Diawa

For hold and hit near snag or under the tree, I use my 6ft 2lb Nash scope and 20lb braid, brutal I know, but perfect for the job.

Tri-Cast John Allerton Rod, anyone use it?

Seaguides are not bad and I guess cheaper than Fuji’s. A lot rod manufacturers use seaguides to bring the cost down I think. Changing guides on a rod isn’t that hard, have you considered changing the guides on acolyte?

    9/10ft rods

Those river ambush rods are excellent, I use them on a small stream a lot, but definitely not my choice for the wye.

Tri-Cast John Allerton Rod, anyone use it?

No, not preparing for that sort of money at all. Maybe I will change my mind after seeing acolytes tmr.

This is on eBay now, wish me luck

    9/10ft rods

Scope are nice rods, I have a few 6ft ones that I use for stalking and tiny river trotting, but Nash discontinued all the lower tc models now…

    9/10ft rods

You don’t have much choices, if money is not a problem, 9ft Harrison 2lb rod 10ft Harrison 1.75. Otherwise, I can only think of Korum opportunist rods.

Tri-Cast John Allerton Rod, anyone use it?

Thanks Richard, I saw this as well, but I don't think I would pay that sort of money for it. I am going to my local shop to try a few float rods they have, mostly drennan acolyte, but I've been told they also have some old daiwa float rods there.

    Cheaper pins

Just checked the price of okuma and trudex , the price of okuma reels increased a lot somehow. But the price of trudex is crazy, a good example was about 60, but now nearly 100… Also, the high end reel seems dropping a lot as well, you can pick a mint/new Mill tackle or Chris Lythe pin for no...
