If you can, use a shorter rod, easier to hold for a longer time.
Have your rod tip points to the bait, gives better bite detection on your fingers.
Bring some bread, free lining a floating bread in the summer is a deadly method for chub.
Rapidex is good for still water and Grice is great for ledgering due to their design. So that’s Trudex or speedia narrow drum. I prefer speedia due to the ratchet, but speedia has a very deep spool, which makes the retrieval very slow. You can get a line reducer to make the spool shallower. But...
I guess powermesh is the best option here if you can get around with the guides.
People may used to associate Korum staff with low price, hence not willing to pay for the omega? But at 70, what could go wrong?
if you are not looking for a pair, how about free spirit ctx 2.25? Bit out of your...
I love my hexagraph no2, not the ray version but I believe the action is the same? The rod actually has a fast tip with power from middle to butt, similar to torrix IMO. The no1 is classic through action rod I’ve been told.
I use pins with both 11ft fs seeker and torrix 1.75, personally I prefer the seeker because of the through action, makes casting of heavy lead easier. But the fast tip on torrix makes it a great rolling meat rod, it casting lead bait lead better.
Well, I am sure Hinders elips pellet is good, but my fishing time is very limited due to family commitments, so I prefer to use the bait that I have full confidence.
I will give it another go when I have more time to fish.
The cadence one is a decent rod, much better than the drennan. Or have a look of freespirit ctx 1.5lb and 11ft seeker 1.5lb rods.
Tacklebox rods are great as well, but some of them may have quality issues, I’ve heard some them have flat spot, or break during casting. But still, worth every...
OK, let's return to the original topic: 11ft ctx 2lb and 1.75lb barber seeker su. Since I don't fish Nidd, I will only compare the rods. And these just my personal options, if you can, try find them and feel them for yourself, better than reading what we said here.
I have both rods and have...
I tried the fujka pellet once, not a single bite, switched to bread, few chub and roach, thinking fish may just moved in so switched back to fujka and no bite again.
