Apart from the Fox 15ft, there was only one other i know of and that was a Harrison prototype... and only a handful were ever made.

    Melting Lead

Always do it outside, lead fumes and other vapours, really aren't good for you. Use leather gloves. I use a small stainless pan, the ones that you would boil an egg in size. If you can get one with a spout even better. Make sure your lead sits in the bottom of the pan, it aids it melt. Always...

Quick change hook rig - Korda Hook Klips

These are made for Ronnie rigs etc. If you are using them as a bottom rig; then imo they change the mechanics of hooking a Barbel. Ie the shank is heavier and making the point lighter. It should be opposite. I will bet on more hook pulls, if used this way....

    Normark float rods

I have the new HI S 15ft and yes it is lacking in power in the butt to middle section. Shame really as I was expecting a little more power tbh. My Daiwa F1 LD 15ft is way ahead for my needs.

    Flood water reels

Very much the same as you Bob. I did the same for summer barbel on the Trent 4000s and a 1.75, but kept getting found out every now and then. A 6000 shimano and a 2.75 Daiwa has been the perfect match this year..

Dealing with Mitten Crabs on the Tidal Trent

I probably jumped a little too quick there... they are everywhere, even more so on areas that are heavily fished. They don't come in ones and 2s either. 5 years ago they were a few above Dunham bridge and they weren't such a problem. There is a lot around Gainsborough and they can be a problem...

Dealing with Mitten Crabs on the Tidal Trent

The sad thing here, is all those hooklengths with a baited hook on, getting eaten by Barbel... Do you fish a popular area, thats baited and fished quite regularly? If yes, then your answer is in front of you or not in front of you.

Fishing the swim next to someone

If I'm the only one on the river bank and someone sets up that close; ie less than 50m, im going to have a chat 100%. Even if they set up opposite, we are going to have a chat... diplomatically of course.

    Interesting Vid from Mark Tunley

Im back out again up Collingham way again Monday. Now a tweak i have missed this term is the omission of a small esp line aligner. This generally nails em 100%... Just an addition as I have seen it before, the Barbel are snatching instead of actually feeding. This is well off thread now sorry.

    Interesting Vid from Mark Tunley

I had this the other week, I lost as many as I had hooked, compared to precious sessions when I hooked and landed everyone. I have had this before too. Its wierd one. My thoughts were they were very tentative and didn't really get the hook in the mouth, just nicked, if at all. As you say Ian...

    Go to hookbaits

Only ever done well on Lobworms, on the lower TT. Once, I had been down for a good 6 hours biteless in a devoid and fish less peg. Nick turned up with 20 lobworms, I said ooh can I try one. It went from biteless to a fish a chuck. We ended up digging for lobworms on the bank, just to keep the...
