    Dedicated Chub Rod

I do find it a bit amusing to ponder over what rod we should use to target Chub etc, the Chub don't care about what make be it Drennan Harrison etc not concerned about test curve of the rod used, or is dedicated to Mr Chub. He won't care neither should we, I guess we all could select at least...

    Dedicated Chub Rod

How do you target Chub on the Trent unless its the upper river? I would have thought you would equally hook a Barbel using a feeder /lead set up.

    Nash Specialist 12’ Rod

Yes, not one of my better purchases Terry. Got confused with the better examples.

    Nash Specialist 12’ Rod

They are Nash H but not the quality of the specialist the op wants to sell. I would ask at least £60 for the specialist.

Weight of Korum fast mat and supa lite fast mat

I get it, was pondering the same as was contemplating a motorcycle..never too old eh? I have a strap that binds top and bottom, and Korum just brought out one, attaches to tip and butt protector. But I guess you need some protection too.

    Nash Specialist 12’ Rod

I picked up the Dean Macey one Terry for thirty quid, I think you thought this was not as good as this one? I can confirm the quivers are a loose fit and shake out of the holder. It was unused with the plastic still on the butt.

Having to carry the quiver when the rods are out mainly.

Weight of Korum fast mat and supa lite fast mat

I am forever trying to cut down on carrying weight and stuff I don't really need. I seem to have found the solution in the Drennan specimen net bag, in green of course not the gaudy match colours😑 In that I can stuff all I need for a session, fold up net, fold up stool with back rest being the...

    Thames head dries

Now John the message is not to talk ourselves into a recession! But yes what a mess, not even Angela's (charms) could I fear get Old Father Thames waters flowing again. Agree 100% Starmer is not your usual suspect, which makes the whole thing a bit bazaar, I guess there's Ed Davey, he has a...

    Thames head dries

The thing about water, it is a constant, there is never more or less, its just sometimes too much in one place and too little in another. The Earth is 2/3rds water .We have one of the wettest climates, and yet on top of 13% inflation, sky high petrol, soariing energy prices, the possibility of...

    Thames head dries

Well don't let facts get in the way of a good scare story, the picture of a dried up Thames is I believe Ashton Keynes, here it dries up like that every Summer. Mark Everard is probably exaggerating the 50% drop ...although I don't doubt there is a decline. Headwaters often dry up, nothing new...

    Low Oxygen, and feeding.

Yes the raffle at the end as is usual in such events, contained some of Martin's bread baits, I didn't win it, but I did stump up for his book, which is a great read. So Martin if you read this, would love to try your bread baits. 😐

    Low Oxygen, and feeding.

It is well understood that a low o2 level puts of fish, larger species especially from feeding. Not completely of course, but larger food items are difficult to digest due to decreased vigour in the fish metabolism. I recently was suffering a biteless few hours using the conventional pellet...

    Specialist Rods (1.25-1.5lbtc)

There are some excellent budget rods out there, as Huan as alluded to, the 7ft Ambush rod I have is remarkable value, no need too spend a fortune these days, I appreciate its a status thing primarily in buying a top brand, but the wife will love you even more if that's possible if you go down...

John Wilson rod is back, by angling direct.

Nothing to do with sensible, but everything to do with sentiment.

John Wilson rod is back, by angling direct.

These are made by Jarvis Walker I believe. The Mastertlne from my local Tewkesbury were the original JW rods that have the nostalgia and quirkiness. For me the old Avons were the ones, apart of course from my newly acquired quiver (cough).😧

    If you....

Actually its a tad under 5ft, even longer. Been catching some good WA Chub recently will give the rod an outing later, it deserves it after all these years.
