Hi Dave just to let you know my local tackle shop has ordered me 2 top Avon sections for my series 7. They have a small amount of them left so give it a go.

Well Impressed it’s actually perfect and love how compact it is.. actually made for smaller sized reels and rings. Saves having a big bulky carp sleeve… nice one Paul!

Haha to be fair I don’t think the quality was amazing on the series 7s I’ve also got a pair of the much older super specialist duos which have had much more use and no broken tips … still, keeping an eye out

Does any tackle company do a single rod sleeve that holds a 5000 size reel not big pit size. With a pocket or 2 for bank sticks and net handle. Want a sleeve for protection due to brambles etc. small river one rod fishing but with a bit of added protection?

Ah thanks for the info Neil… looks like both rods could have been released around the same time. My initial thoughts were it being a fair bit older than that. Cheers for clearing that up.

Thanks for the offer Neil. I’m ideally after a pair of 1.25 or 1.5’s. I’ve got a pair or series 7 Avon/quivers 1.25 which were ideal but I’ve managed to snap both of the Avon top sections!! So been after some replacements for those but that’s seeming impossible to source, hence looking at these...
