    length of hooklengths?

Thanks for the reply’s and I think you are right @Ian Grant there probably are other factors in my lack of results. Minimal baiting and fishing lots of different areas probably don’t help. I tend to only introduce feed through a feeder or pva bags and not much of it to be honest. And I jump from...

    length of hooklengths?

That's interesting Mark, may I ask why shorter with smaller baits and longer with bigger baits? what is your thinking behind that?

    length of hooklengths?

That's good to know Jon, thanks. I was considering using between 6 and 12inch to start with and see how I get on. Thing is the fish are so few and far between on the Thames its hard to see whats causing the blanks!! Shame we don't have any "runs rivers" to try this stuff out on like carp...

    length of hooklengths?

I strayed off the point of the post slightly, lol Generally, what length hooklengths would you use on a river like the Thames??

    length of hooklengths?

I've been thinking more and more about my approach to the River Thames for this year, probably overthinking it if I'm honest!! I have always used long hooklengths, as is traditional for barbel fishing, but I got thinking about the amount of barbel that are caught by carp anglers on shorter...

    Halibut pellets

Touch wood, no issues with mice or rats but then my gear is stored inside the house. I would never store it outside in a shed or garage again, replaced too many nets, bags and holdalls over the years to go back to that!!

    Halibut pellets

I have packets of pellets that have been open all season that I haven’t used for one reason of another and would have no issues using them.

    Halibut pellets

£1.59per kg with postage, although that's still cheap and looks a better quality pellet that the original one I posted. thanks for the link

    Naming stretches.

I wouldn't name stretches personally. The Lower Thames is about all you'll get from me these days.

    Halibut pellets

Thanks @Graham Elliott is it like a quick breakdown pellet rather than the standard halibut pellets you would buy?

    Halibut pellets

I need to get some help too, have been scouring various websites and ebay looking for a bulk bag. Ive just discovered an Animal feed store close to my house that I didn't know was there so I'm going to pop in there soon and take a look at what they have.

    Grayling poaching

I guess most of the people in the thread have never driven faster than the speed limit?? I used to fish a club lake years ago that had another lake owned by another club behind it. We used to wander our lake lure fishing and jump onto the other lake for a few casts, catching some fish...

    Floating retainer

I have it laid out on over the mat. Transfer the fish to it after a picture to weigh it and then into the margins to recover before being let go

    Halibut pellets

Morning all, Has anyone used these baits?? Starter baits? Is the quality any good. Looking to buy a bulk bag of pellet as it’s obviously cheaper this one works out about £2.23 a kg

    Floating retainer

I have a Nash one, I use it to weigh fish and move them back to the water from the unhooking mate. Great bits of kit, I can rest a fish now and get back fishing again and have the net free should I need it.
