Carp fishing Fluorocarbon mainline

Maxima mate -

Not a lot of people know this either but it's also a low stretch, very responsive line as well..
Lower stretch = lower 'snap resistance'. That's not opinion, that's physics, mate.
N.b.. relatively expensive lines do not last on the market if they don't command/merit their cost. Seaguar Soft plus, formally known and sold for years as Grand Max Soft plus, has stood the test of time. If it wasn't so good, it wouldn't be still on the market. It's 'horses for courses' IMO (and yes, some people swear by, and reckon that, their Austin Allegro was the best car they ever owned 🤣)

It's low-ish stretch mate, although not marketed as such..

You aint gonna sell me on fluoro mate sorry, nobody will ever again - I don't trust it and will never go there!

Ps nah - higher quality and formulation/better materials/STRENGTH = more ''snap resistance'' - not just as basic as stretch factor -
Maxima in 12-18lb is used for decades by King Salmon ghillies for a very good reason -

They are serious fish in seriously rocky rivers, which laugh through their flash rookie punters 'invisible, super this, super that' fluoros they all bring with them after reading impressive sounding adverts on the tinterweb

I'm no physician, but I think that's 100 percent wrong.....
Surely something that stretches, and stretches and stretches and stretches and stretches and stretches and stretches and stretches and stretches.
I'm bored now.
Is less prone to snapping??.
Unless it's different when considering fishing lines.😃

Cue... Physician...

God you write some garbage !

Maxima (green) is great line - for certain jobs. I’ve used it for chinook salmon leaders in 15 and 20lb and it’s great.

I also use Soft Plus Fluoro for certain jobs, notably saltwater fly tippets and it is excellent. I have never lost a fish on it through breakage and that includes 3 permit of over 30lb. And I have a reputation in certain saltwater circles for playing fish hard….If I used a Maxima tippet I wouldn’t have even hooked any of those incredible fish.

I’ve also used Fluoro mainlines to good effect in certain situations. Again no breakages and that includes carp to 40 lb plus from super hard, low stock venues.

Do you know what salmon anglers on the big Russian rivers used, pre- Ukraine ? Answer 35 lb Seaguar. Ano Fluoro that has its uses.

Don't be rude, and I'm not taking your bait too easily but -

You personally know the (?) 50K+ anglers on ''the big Russian rivers'' do ya 😅😂

If fluoro is so great then why do so many people hate it - the stuff about the King Salmon ghillies is 100% true, it's the same in Scotland they carry Maxima to bail out the punters endless fluoro leader issues

10- 12lb Maxima would have hooked and landed those fish easily, it is very low viz due to matt surface-
Amongst fluorocarbon's endless gimickry and persistent unreliability it can be much more high viz than nylon, when the light hits it at a certain angle it can light up like a shard of light and be very reflective
